I don't know if they are really entitled to anything. If you enjoy it, that's fine. If enough others do then I guess it will continue. I find that when 'Lifestyle' sections talk about sports it is always simplistic and pedantic. People in my opinion should concern themselves with their core compatancies.

I made a statement about the conditions that would enable me to remove my signature in the linked post. It is important to me that I keep my word on such things. I feel that I would be not acting in a way that I would enable me to feel comfortable with myself if I were to disable it without the prerequisite conditions outlined in the initial post having been met. I won't ask you to comprise your principals if you don't ask me to compromise mine.

I can't read all of these posts. it gives me a headache and it is extremely late (or early).

My dad once told me that everything I did effected the world. That every movement has an effect that dominoes out into the cosmos. I believe that is mostly true and that things that happen in society effect you or will effect you at some point.

I have been curious about this subject for a while and have looked into it quite a bit. It seems there are two philosophies that are the most predominate.

    1) The use of the "n" word is OK in certain circumstances, by certain people in certain situations. The reasoning is partly that it helps break down the stigmatism of the word, helps empower those who use it which helps negate the history of degradation and descrimination against those same people.

    2) The use of the word is not OK unless you are reading a Mark Twain story. It belittles the equality that people have fought for and displays ignorance and disrespect.

I agree with number two. I don't see how desensitizing this word and making it common use in everyday conversation is a good thing. I see people between the age of 18 and 28 using this word constantly (of all races) and I have a hard time understanding this. All through my life this has not been something you say and yet here it is flowing around you at the bar as freely as the lite beer on tap.

If you except this word in any context you except this word as common usage in society's conversations. I don't care how much you say this doesn't effect you, it does. If the effect doesn't bother you that can also be true. It bothers me.

Each move a person does that elevates his or her life elevates the family. Each time the family is elevated society is elevated as well.

    Cheers,
    Brock
