so is there any link to what the redeem team was saying about Rubio? But i dont want to hear anything from a press conference, they'd say the same thing about anyone they were asked about if it's in public...i want to know if they said anything behind the scenes...it sounds like they did from this blog, but what exactly did they say?
Some? They all had to improve, to even be considered All Stars. Plus it will probably take a while for an 18 year old coming from international play to develop a shot compared to a 20-21 year old coming out of college.
Minny fans love Rubio. They think the TWolves should trade Flynn to the blazers for wing players. Some also think they should have drafted Curry at #6. Rubio and Curry can play together. Rubio has become a fan favor in US.
we're talking about their ability to shoot here...not overall game. I'm sure Nash improved some percentage points on his jumper or something like that, but we're talking going from being a not so good shooter to a good shooter, nash never was in that position and neither was paul. Deron i think was streaky with his 3 or overall, i dont remember exactly, so he did improve some, but nash was always a good shooter and so was Paul, CP just didnt use it as much as he should or could have.
no, he didnt. i brought it up as a weakness of rubio's game, and we've been talking about whether there's a comparable player that went from being a poor shooter to an accurate one. in other words, does the fact that he's so young mean theres more time for him to develop a good shot? or is he going to be hampered by it for his pro career?
First of all, the comparison to Steve Nash is a complete joke. Steve Nash is one of the greatest shooting pg's in NBA history. He has literally been a machine on that end of the floor since his 30th birthday. So please, let's stop with that. Secondly, I have explained in another thread why I am not at all personally impressed by Ricky Rubio, but if Daryl Morey likes him, that is good enough for me. With that said, trading for Ricky Rubio while keeping Yao Ming makes little to no sense to me. If Daryl Morey thinks Ricky Rubio will be great, while I disagree, that's fine and he has my blessing and support as a fan to make that trade. But keeping Yao Ming, who has at the most 3 or 4 good years left in him makes little to no sense in conjunction with that move.
It would be nice to get him but we don't need him, lets not give up on Brooks just yet. BUT if we can get him cheaply then why the hell not. Everyone can use a bit of Spanish in their lives. OLE!
If Ricky really wants to become a better shooter, he will. It just takes practice, practice, and practice. A lot of players have improved and Rubio's shot isn't HORRIBLE...it's just not good.
We are not talking overall skill you're right. but from being a not that good shooter to a good/great shooter takes time and practice. Sometimes a good/constistent shot is the toughest thing to develop for players, but if the player is talented enough and has a good enough work ethic it works the best for both them and the team.
Am I to conclude with all the Rubio talk that the Rockets are simply not happy with Brooks? Rocket River
They need find a star to build around after Yao+Tmac era. Do you think Brooks is the star that the rockets can build around?
yeah but lebron is also 6'9 , 250 and can jump over anyone to get a wide open shot. Rubio's shot is still literally a set shot, so not only does he have to work on the form, but also getting it off, its going to be more difficult for him.
