I literally couldn't have said it better myself. I think many people overlook the fact that he hasn't many legal off the court problems like most of our young athletes have today. And we're talking about a guy that is the face of the NBA. Like you said, if the worst thing this guy does is his whole "show off" persona, I'll take it also. Seriously, he could be doing much worse. Take it easy, folks.
Bron and his entire act is a part of a front running mentality. They pull all of that crap when they are blowing people out. When he is challenged in the playoffs by a team with some swingers he looks like someone violated his mom.
those critics just like to criticize. what can you do? lebron is great for the NBA. and he knows it. he's bringing more attention not only to himself, but to the L. i mean, outside of tiger, who can control the media like this? david stern must be loving this having the media shines on the face of the NBA on just a decision on where he's playing next year. he has to.
does the more lebron plays basketball better than kobe make lebron look like the best player in the game?
i'm pretty sure you're wrong. michael jordan was a saint with no character flaws who never once cared about his image or brand.
Whatever. I think it's fun. NBA Basketball isn't sacred, he's really not doing anything wrong. Can't hold it against a guy that he's self-promoting. It's the offseason dude, it gives us something to watch and talk about.
I agree and disagree with that. if Lebron actually works so hard in the off season to be the dominating force that he is that he can actually have the energy to do those things on the sidelines then it should be a wake up call to the rest of the league. If he can take them that lightly and still get 30/10/10 it's time for them to man up and do something about it. Remember when the league would drop a guy on his a** for doing stuff like that no matter who he was, when every player down to the 12th man on the other bench took it personally insulting for even just trash talk. I bet now-a-days when Lebron James dances on the sidelines even the players on the other team are in awe of his greatness. He might as well act like that if no one in the game is going to challenge him on it....that's just my opinion.
Kobe looks to be about taking care of business...of winning championships...and whatever comes from that is what comes from that. LeBron seems to me to be more concerned with building the LeBron brand...if winning championships will help with that, then great....but it's not first and foremost. I'd be more impressed if he called out the Cavs...said, "this is my team...now get me some damn players!" then i would with just jumping ship to go play alongside other alpha dogs. maybe this all wouldn't look so goofy to me if LeBron hadn't disappeared against the Celts the way he did. just my take. my view of it. i don't know either guy, personally.
Semi-Pro was funny as hell too. Will is funny to me in prettty much everything. Old school was pretty good too.
He was whinning and flirting with the clipps before they moved shaq out of town. Oh, did i mention he played his first 8 years with probably the best player in the game at the time? Then when he was shipped out and the lotto and 2 1 and dones came knocking, where was he? Every radio show talking about moving on and playing somewhere else. I'm a fan of kobe, but he doesn't deserve to be in the class people are putting him in. Do you think james can shoot like kobe shot in the finals and they win? I can't pull the link right now, but i will find it, but when they were talking, garnett told james he probably stayed too long in minny and tried to o it himself which you can't. Unless you're from nigeria
Garnett is in a class below the sort of players LeBron hopes to be compared to when it's all over. Those guys are the ones who stuck with one team for the overwhelming bulk of their career and all of their prime years...and won with one team. So if LeBron wants to be remembered like a Garnett type player, that's neat. But I don't think that's what LeBron is after. And that's "less" than what he's made out to be. I've got no love for Kobe. Can't stand the guy. But he's been there for both eras of title runs for the Lakers over the course of his career. Yes, he played with Shaq...but it's been a while since Shaq left, and guess who is still winning rings. I'm not suggesting anyone can do it alone, however. Takes management getting the right pieces around you, for sure.
