    Snyder would like trade
Forward/guard Kirk Snyder, who has played in only nine games this season, said his agent has told Rockets general manager Daryl Morey that he would welcome a trade, though he stopped short of asking to be dealt.

"It's been a really difficult situation,'' said Snyder, who is in the last season of his contract. "Obviously I'm not playing so I can't really show other teams what I'm about, what I truly have. It's going to take a team to take kind of a gamble. From a business perspective, I understand that.

"If any other team is interested, we'd have to look at it as the best situation for myself and my family.''

Snyder's agent, Chris Emens, said "several teams'' have expressed interest in Snyder, but that there is not an offer in place for him.

"Without question, Kirk is interested in exploring any opportunity to get on the court,'' Emens said. "It does not appear that an opportunity with Houston as it stands now would be realistic. It's safe to say Daryl and I have discussed opportunities Kirk can be traded. Kirk is interested in playing basketball in the NBA. If being traded is the means to accomplish that, he would welcome that.

"Kirk is in a tough situation. He loves the city of Houston, loves his teammates and wants to contribute. The powers that be have decided he is not in their plans.''

Morey would not discuss specifics of trade talks.

"We still feel Kirk is somebody that can help us in the right situation,'' Morey said. "Obviously, he's out of the rotation at this point. We still believe in his ability and him as a player.''

His luck change tremendously after he injured his wrist. He was a starter before that injury and he was good then, life is just tough.

Snyder is good enough. He would have had more minutes with JVG. Oh well, anyone we trade him for is probably not going to crack the rotation.

That means he will consent to any trade....interesting.

Throw him in a trade with Mike James, Wells, Head or Hayes and get Cassell ;)

I respect Snyder's position. But I just do not understand how his agent knows " 'several teams' have expressed interest in Snyder"?

Do interested teams contact agents? Do teams' GMs say, "Hey, Mr Agent, these teams have asked for your client's services." I thought teams told star players' agents when a move was being sought by the team and/or when a move appeared imminent, but just as a matter of course?

I would just like to know.

Agents deal with GMs. They'd have their numbers. If they wanted a chat over something they'd call them.

And a non-rotation expiring-contract guys agent would be told that 'several teams' want him? Or would they say things like that to perhaps drive a market for a guy who is valuable because his contract goes away?

its probably one of morey's tricks again to keep snyder not in the position to negotiate a better contract if bonzi doesn't want to stay.

Sorry for that spoiler morey if this is really true

Snyder is a leaper. His shooting form is so awkward and he doesnt know about the game. He is so lost on the court. Basically 4 coaches have given up on him. I trade him for a 2nd round if there is a taker. Good luck to him anyway!

I'm thinking his agents probably contact other teams to see if there is an interest and if Snyder could get some floor time and such. Cus I'm sure agents just don't sit around waiting to be called.

I kinda feel bad for Kirk. He's pretty much approaching the prime of his career, and he's not getting any chances to play. And he really is a quality player; his success with the Rockets in the early part of last season proves that. I'm surprised by his comments, he doesn't sound like he's bitter about the situation he's in. Most players in his position would flat out demand and force a trade. It's good to here that he really enjoys being on this team, even though he's stuck on the bench.

I wouldn't mind trading Head/Snyder/James for a quality player or two.

Snyder to any team with a trade exception large enough. Sign Mike Harris.

Just as an aside, why do people keep saying that the Rockets should run out and sign Mike Harris right away? As an invite to the summer league and training camp? Sure. But the Rockets have 15 decent players on the roster and would still have 13 healthy guys if Snyder is dealt for a trade exception. With the team so close to the luxury tax threshhold, I doubt the team wants to add marginal players to the payroll right now. And if there is such a risk to "losing out" on Harris, then why hasn't any other team so much as brought him in for a workout?

I like Mike Harris, but people on this BBS can a little TOO carried away with him. There is nothing that Harris can bring to a REGULAR SEASON NBA game that the Rockets can't get from Bonzi, Snyder or Landry.
