I'm going to game tonight and I certainly don't want to be cold. That said, when I look back on this even in 2 months time, all I will rememeber is who won and who lost. We need to sweep the homestand.
Open the roof ~ this is baseball - if they're not smart enough to figure that out then maybe they need to be told...
Even if they close the roof, will it be warm inside? I'm not sure if they have a heater to warm the place up. It may be cold in there no matter if the roof is open or closed. Anyways, I can't believe what a huge debate this has turned into. I don't think it's that big a deal either way.
BS. Houston had baseball outdoors for nearly a century; I think this community knows what outdoor baseball is like. It is not an issue of "smart enough".
It'll only be mid-50's outside (44 is the overnight low). Put 50,000 people inside that sucker breathing their hot air, plus no northerly wind to chill things down, and it will be pretty comfy pretty quickly.
That kind of makes me wonder if any dome team has done a chilli with pinto beans promotion? Just imagine 50K+ people after stuffing themselve full of chilli and beans..
Are you sure about that? Warm air rises. Remember, the upper deck won't have that NE wind to cool it off with the roof closed.
What about Frito Pie! Frito's, Chili, with Cheese! Ahhhh ...How I miss FRITO PIE! Nobody up here in NY knows what that is!
on a semi cool night, any little wind significantly makes it cooler in the upper deck. if it's 50 degrees outside, i don't think it matters what direction the wind is coming from, you're gonna experience major shrinkage...know what i mean?
It doesn't matter how slow or fast the wind is moving outside. With the roof closed, the only wind will be out of people's pieholes and nostrils (and God forbid any other holes as well)--and that's wind of the "warm" persuasion. And, let's hope Roy causes major shrinkage tonight in that dugout along the 3rd base line.
The upperdeck and the outfield deck get pretty breezy in the evenings... ESPECIALLY the seats in BFE down the left field line.
