    WOAI -
Melvin Ely is close to becoming a member of the San Antonio Spurs . The club is finalizing a deal that would send Eric Williams to Charlotte in exchange for the forward.

Ely is in the final season of his contract

ITS ON REALGM and HOOPSHYPE....do you believe it now, LOL? Geez!

    listen rookie

first you call out someone in a stupid fashion about Chris Paul and were WRONG.

now you gonna come along and try to act like Realgm and Hoopshype (LAWL) are some authoritative source???

    FYI

those places dont know jack anymore than the people here do.

You want to be taken seriously, dont bring rumors from those sites, it is frowned upon. just look at the url of that article posted in the "TE Deadline" thread....it has asterisks blanking out the domain name...that is cause their "articles" are a bunch of crap that are not allowed here.

Melvin Ely is behind Jake Voshkul in Charlotte's rotation. I can't possibly think of a bigger sign of a useless player.

    padge? novak? vspan?

beggers can be choosers and its better to get something than nothing. if 1 of the 3 'bigs' go down (howard/chuck/deke) i'd rather have ely to throw in there than padge or novak

No, it's not always better to get something than nothing. We have a full roster - we'd have to cut/trade someone to add someone.

Sura's contract still has value that you would lose if he's cut. Sampson has played less than half the minutes Padgett has played this year - he's just a decently athletic big man with no skill. I'd be fine with getting him for the TE, but I wouldn't even give up a 2nd round pick for him.

Not if the reason the guy is forcing his way out in the first place is because he wants more playing time.

I'd rather have Padgett or Novak fill in in case of injury the Ely.
