if we make a deal, who gets cut? Do we cut Padgett? Do we cut Sura and eat his salary when it could be useful in a 2nd trade?

The exception expiring a week before the deadline screws us since a Sura deal prob. won't happen until the deadline approaches

I hope we can get someone that we need. Chucky Atkins would be a great addition to the rockets.

I agree Chucky Atkins should be the target and I hope the logo will take the TE for him, since his team is in lottery mode. If the Rockets are able to land Chucky, they should look to move Sura for a backup C/F.

Even if we'll be doing nothing or at the very least bring in someone we won't care about, we are still Rockets. But if we trade Luther Head to somewhere else, then we are not, coz he is a very important part of Rockets this season. Luther has already showed us his potential to become a star in the very near future, can u imagine Luther Head shoot solid 3 points against us in playoffs? Oh no!!! Maybe we will trade him someday , but at least not now! :)

I heard it on NBA Sirius Radio Full Court Press. Ian Eagle was mentioning it.

I'd like to see us grab a big man. I understand the need to have a guy like atkins, and I wouldn't turn him away, but I feel that our lack of a true 4/5 is by far the most imortant thing we have to address.

Still, a pg rotation of Skip, Atkins, and Luther would be solid. JL3 or V-span would be completely expendible in that case, and I can't say that I would be unhappy about that.

If Memphis wants V-Span then I can see Atkins coming here but I have my doubts that we will be able to get him.

There will be a team out there who is deperate to get under the luxury tax and give us a decent player

Atkins is a real possibility. Memphis would not want want anybody in return. They want to dump salary not take salary back.

This statement is not true. I wouldn't mind the TE expiring if we can't pick up someone solid and stay under the luxury tax ourselves.

I hope they add an NBA quality point guard or big. JL3 and Vspan aren't cutting it. And as great as Deke has been, we need to cut his minutes down.

I'm sorry to have to say this, but...

How many times do we have to say that a TE cannot be combined with anything?

See the post directly above yours. Also, the TE cannot be split, as far as I know.
