    blah, blah, blah, blah, blah....

spinning his ass off? so, he really didn't reach out to Rashard's agent and is just making it up? or, he reached out, but if Rashard says, "Yes, I'm on board" he will say "uh-oh, didn't expect this to happen, sorry Rashard, we were just spinning for the fans sake"

The Rockets would like to sign Rashard in some way or another. Just because the chances of it happening are relatively slim doesn't mean it is a media-spin job just to get the fans excited. The chances ARE slim, but that's the way it is. Still shoudl go for it anyway.

All reports have Morey attempting to bring in other FA's, also. Just not the game changers of Kapono, Walton or MoPete like you'd like  You know, those all-stars who are always creating their own shots and taking it to the rack with authority

The Rockets need a PF. Even being less concerned than most about Chucky's ability to give you 25-30 mpg on a competitive team (heck, if one Chuck - Chucky Brown - could do it, I don't see why this one can't), we still are in desperate need of another PF. This is what Morey is targeting.

Finally, what do Aroon Brooks or Landry have to do with Rashard Lewis? Not much.

    I agree

If Steve Nash/Lebron James were free agents, sure they might or might not fit the team's particular needs. But they have to at least TRY to look into it and put themselves in position, for that rare case they catch lightning in a bottle and for some reason a high priced free agent says yes to join the club. Half the teams in league are gonna talk to Rashard, think they ALL have no other needs on their clubs to fill?

And I thought it was about being like the Mavericks and Spurs, and Lakers and Kings of the past - stockpile the team with any of the best talents out there and get them on YOUR club. Signing a Melvin Ely to fill a need and being content to ONLY keep searching for another power forward is something I'm not content with. I know there's salary cap restrictions but at least they're pursuing

Ever hear of trading small for big? We aren't talking one deal here but several. Who's the mental midget now?

I already see it happening !! The trades are happening and the Rockets could once again screw themselves as they wave "Bye,Bye," to all the good FA's as they make their new homes.... :(

Unless reports of Lewis getting much more are off.I can't see why Lewis would take seveal million less to play in Houston. I think this is just feel good grandstanding by the Rockets.

The good FA's really have no desire to come to the Rockets because of a lack of money.I do feel however that the management has to move quickly for a sign and trade for a PF if it's possible to get something done. That won't be easy either.

apparently the rockets can't please everybody.

last year it was trading our future away (gay) for a sure thing (battier).
this year its drafting our future (brooks & landry) and not going for a sure thing.

creating a winner involves a lot of luck as well. drafting an unknown player who could be a stretch but could turn out to be an all star, ie parker & manu.

At the beginning of last offseason, did anyone have thoughts of getting bonzi wells? Even after he turned down his huge offer from the kings? Who's to say it can't happen again. There are dozens of other teams that will go after the big prizes and fail to get them. It happens every off season.

Its either why didn't we go after that player or when we do attempt to go after somebody its just a media hype.

just sit back and enjoy the fact the our team is finally being competitive and being more consistent of it as well.

Trading the Franchise for Penny Hardaways expiring gave them a ton of cap room this season.

Houston would like a PF like "Aldridge or channingfry badly" too.

Forget Rashard, lets trade with the Blazers:

    Battier

    FOR

Frye/Outlaw and rights to Rudy Fernandez (who the Rockets coveted in the draft)

I would do it even it meant taking back ugly contracts like Miles or LaFrentz's.

The "Rashard" hoopla is a PR ploy, he is not coming here. He gets resigned or lands elsewhere. I know, Captain Obvious to the rescue!
