We've had way too many times where our shooters couldn't hit the ocean with a beach ball. That is PRECISELY why we should make sure we secure Redick out of this draft. You are helping me make the argument friend.

Like Brewer or any other player that we draft WON'T have to EXPAND their games to be successful at the NBA level.

Quit looking at lineups and start looking at results. Quit trying to just match up with the competition and think about making the competition match up to you. We will never be champions if we are only concerned with catching up to what somebody else is doing. The champion sets the pace and forces the others to adjust.

Uh oh! Don't bring bball IQ into this. Everyone knows one of Brewer's greatest strength is his bball IQ. There are several articles about it. His dad was a former NBA player. He has played BBall since when he was little.

BBall IQ can't be said the same for Carney though.

Ok, so you say Luther got abused therefore Redick will too?

WTF? How do you come to that conclusion? Maybe Redick is better than Luther in all aspects of the game.

Ugh....you can not argue with circular logic like this, there is no way you can say that Luther got beat therefore Redick will too....because using this logic you can say...Luther got beat and so will Brewer....the bottom line is you just don't know.

    Jop,

You are right on the money.....bend other teams to OUR WILL !!!!!

And I would be happy with Brewer or Redick, but I think Redick will be the better pro.

Wrong. I am in love with getting rid of Juwan for anybody that could possibly contribute something positive to our team. I am not in love with Darius. I came up with the Darius solution only in regards to removing Juwan from our team. I'd like to think Portland would bite on that deal. And I know it would not hurt us, no matter how badly Miles acted. We could just bench him, which would still be an upgrade over Juwan running around for 30 minutes a game. I'll trade deadwood for the opportunity to have a "lock down" defender. It makes more sense than drafting a potential "lock down" defender at #8.

Dude, Redick has about the same body size as Luther. They're both small.

Using that argument I could say Harold Minor was a bust so Brewer and Carney are sure to be busts too.

Redick is 2 to 3 inches bigger, has infinitely more range, and is infinitely more accurate than Luther. Luther is nice. He is a PG, that doesn't know how to handle the basketball. Redick is a 2 guard that can handle the basketball. Oh, and did I mention, he's the best shooter to come into the NBA since Ray Allen.

Redick is 2" taller than Luther, and is a superiour player in every way.

Let me put it another way, if Luther was avaible in THIS YEARS draft, do you think he would go higher than Redick?

Those two inches don't help. I said body mass. If Lu was 2 inches taller he would still get abused by Mobley. He didn't have enough strength just like Redick doesn't.

All throughout his career he's thrived off of screens in a motion offense designed to get him open. He's not going to get that same kind of treatment as a Rocket. Sure, there will be PnR and plays designed to get him open but I have a hard time not believing the majority of his shots would come off of kickouts.

As for his defense, thats one of my biggest concerns. Your idea of adequete and mine are probably different. As long as Alston is our starter at the point we're already guarenteed one bad defender in the backcourt. If we added a player like Redick who proved to be unable to stop dribble penetration, oh say maybe only our biggest problem besides injuries, then you have two bad defenders in your backcourt. Scouts aren't exactly in love with Redick for his upside so defense HAS to be a huge concern. I can already see the athletic guards of the league licking their chops at the sound of that.

They said the same things about Stockton, but his intelligence and positioning made up for it. I think the same thing will happen with Redick.

Maybe Redick can flop, we certainly need more of that on our team, since other teams get that call a LOT....

Maybe Redick can be the Raja Bell of the Rockets.

And as long as Rafer and Brewer are our starters, we are guaranteed to have two bad shooters receiving kick outs and chucking up 3s.

Yeah, let's draft the guy that is going to "lock down" Cuttino Mobley with the 8th pick in the draft. Then we will have something, eh?

Uh... better than to be abused by Cat. And it's not only Cat.

Tell me you're not using John Stockton in a comparison with JJ Redick. Stockton's dribbling, inate ability to find open guys, and quickness made him great.

Come on man. Here... I'll give you Steve Kerr and some upgrade points... work that into your Redick comparison.

Like I said, I'll glady draft the kid that is the guaranteed "lock down" defender that is gonna shut down Cat, Kobe, Allen, Iverson, Rashard, and all the other quality perimeter scorers in this league. Remember, they will have to be a sight better than Raja Bell too. Because Kobe abused him and abuses him all the time.

    Get real dude.

He's not comparing Redick to Stockton. He's comparing what has been said about Redick to what was said about Stockton.
