On espn.com video Andy Katz was told by Redick's agent that would be picked 7-14, however Monday he cancelled Boston's and Orlando's workouts, who pick at 7 and 11. Like it or not it looks like the Rox are the likely destination for JJ.

I think Redick is determined to go to Houston and is doing what he has to do so he'll be available when Houston picks at 8, or 11, 12, or 15.

So he is almost 6'5" in shoes.....that is well tall enough to play the 2 guard.

Last time I check the Rox don't have any kind of outside game.
His shooting touch will open up the middle for Yao and the lanes for T-Mac.
Not saying we should draft him, but if they do it's not a bad selection.

What makes you think this? Just wishful thinking or what?

LOL Redick is tanking it so the Rockets can get him!

Maybe he'll say that he won't sign for any other team besides the Rockets so we can nab him with the 32nd

if this back injury is for real then I'm not sure anymore. Houston fans already know how bad those can be. If he needs surgery on his back as a rookie then I don't know if i would draft him. If I'm houston then I would either hope that atlanta actually is drafting shelden williams and someone else makes a draft mistake so we get one of those top six. If not, I'd take Marcus Williams or Brewer.

If the back isn't a big deal then, its nice that Reddick is almost 6'5 in shoes. That's an improvement over Head right?

I want Redick if his back isn't legit. He has a better height than I thought.

Wishful thinking, a little, and putting together a few things. For instance Reddick saying the Houston workouts were the best, the coaches real knowledgable, and he thinks they like him. Then there is the rumors of Orlando and Houston having a deal in the works and then Reddick cancels a workout in Orlando, imo, he is doing this because he wants to go to Houston at 11 rather than Orlando at 8. Or who knows. it's fun to speculate about this.

Not that anyone cares, but I've warmed up on Redick as well.

Happy to see he measured 6'5 or so with the shoes. Was scared he would be closer to 6'3. Still think he'll be a d liability, but his grit should make him adequate more often than not.

I do think the rox are leaning towards getting him, but that's just a gut feeling.

I'm not really high on any of the guys that I think will be available at the rox pick. The only way I think the rox get a coup is if they can

    A. have Roy or Gay fall to them(remote possibilities imo)
    B. trade the pick for a good vet
    C. trade down for multiple picks in the same range(depth please)

I am not sure of either one of them falling as low as 8...they will start on whatever team picks them.

In a weak draft like this one I dont think you would want the vet that teams would be willing to give up :D

Now this one could work.....hopefully we could pick up a couple of player to fill in our weak, and old bench

This draft is beginning to sound like a soap opera. When is Vince McMahan going to come in and tell Redick that he's suspended from the NBA forever unless he beats............................ STONE COLD STEVE NASH ONE ON ONE!!!

    Crowd cheers.

JJ Reddick looks like a smaller version of Chris Mullin. I would love Reddick on the Rocks because of his heart, basketball knowledge, and of course his shooting ability.

I could make a pretty solid case that there were maybe 8 or 9 players at most out of Kerr's draft that had more productive careers than he did. He could have easily justified a #8 selection.

I read on espn (chad ford blog) that he thinks redick's dwi would hurt his stock in small markets (like utah) and with conservative owners (like orlando) but not so much in places like houston. Maybe his infamy could work out in our favor. We trade our pick for new orleans 12 and 15, (assuming that golden state and seattle are happy with their shooting guards and orlando really doesn't like the DWI), pick redick with 12 and someone else at 15. Hell, if we want to be really optimistic maybe we can get redick with the 15th pick since the 76er's don't need another kyle korver and Utah would be upset about the DWI. With the 12th pick we could get a big man, a pg or a swingman defense guy to complement redick (like brewer).

Despite his final years as a niche 4th quarter sharpshooter, Kerr was a 15 mpg, 4 ppg backup. His first 5 years in the league, he was a nobody. It was only during his 5 year Bulls run that he was actually productive at all, and that's because his man was never guarding him.

Guys that would still be selected in front of him if the '88 draft were redone (in original draft order):
    Danny Manning
    Ric Smits
    Mitch Richmond
    Hersey Hawkins
    Rex Chapman
    Rony Seikley
    Willie Anderson
    Will Perdue
    Dan Majerle
    Rod Strickland
    Vinnie Del Negro
    Grant Long
    Vernon Maxwell
    Anthony Mason
