For anyone who iw sondering, Redick officially measured in at 6-4 189 by NBA officials at the Orlando Pre-Draft camp. No word yet on how tested athletically.
By the by, this is the 12th most posted in thread of all time. The McGrady thread was number one, of course.
At least we finally got something new to talk about with the DWI thing. I don't know why everybody keeps jumping into this with thier "insight" on Redick as if it hadn't been said 35 times earlier in the thread.
It ranks 82nd in views. Everybody has something to say during the summer. It makes me wonder what Yo Yao would say in this situation.
There's a positive. I was thinking he'd be more around 6'3". Jeff Hornacek anyone? People seem to forget that Redick is a wily shooter. He can come off screens, stop and pop, curl and pop, fake and go...he's not just spot-up. He's also a sound team defender. I dunno, I'm starting to get sold on us drafting him.
I heard Boston is seriously considering drafting him at 7. That really makes no sense since they already have pierce at sg and sczerbiak at sf, how many shooters do they need? Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter. If it's not true we can draft him. If it is true then that's one more team ahead of us not picking roy, thomas, aldridge, gay, morrison, bargnani giving us a shot at one of them. I too have resigned myself to signing Redick, although I think going the other way and drafting Brewer would not be a bad choice either. How many players can be your back up sf, pg and starting big sg?
If Boston grabbed Redick, that would mean we have a chance at Bargani, Aldridge, Tyrus Thomas, Roy, Rudy Gay, Morrison, Marcus Williams or Sheldon Williams. I would pick any of those guys ahead of Redick accept maybe Sheldon. I'm a little iffy on Sheldon. So, if Boston picked Redick at number 7 it would be good news for us.
Anyone notice that Redick and Brewer seem to be gaining popularity in the poll while Carney seems to be losing it? http://clutchfans.net/poll_results.cfm If you had a choice between these six NBA Draft prospects at pick #8 for Houston, who would you take? Carney 34.3% Redick 31.7% Brewer 13.7%
I wouldn't have guessed that. A lot of people around here seem to have us picking Brewer. Maybe most people voted before they knew much about Brewer.
Thats the most significant news in this whole thread. I doubt it is as bad as the worse reports that he'll need surgery but his agent is on drugs that he'll go 7-14 if he doesn't get back by the draft. Redick has too many nay sayers and question marks and you add a back problem, I see him dropping.

is it just me or does this sound like hearsay? some "source close the league" said this...sorry i'm not going to jump off the deep end on the "injury" until i hear A LOT more. regardless, we still shouldn't draft him.
if the Rockets know what they are doing they will take Redick, I think there are also a lot of strange coincidences in those stories posted by horoo.
If the Rockets know what they are doing, they will select the best player available. Redick has been on the bubble of the Top 10 ever since day 1 of draft talk. Now after a DUI (not a huge deal IMO but a red flag none the less) and a reported back problem that might require surgery, you're still thinking Redick is the best pick at #8 The only way the Rockets get Redick is if we trade down. If we stay put, look for us to get the bpa which could be Brewer, Carney, Shelden, or even Thomas/Gay if some jumps into the Top 7.
I asked this in another thread, but will re-ask here because this seems to be the predominant Redick thread..... the reports say he had a .11 BAC (blood alcohol content)...... well I might be wrong but from trying to remeber back to my DARE classes in school isn't that about equivalent to 3 beers or one small shot of liquor for adult male? If so then that's really not that big a deal.
