Most definitely dead weight and no he was not more productive then Battier or Ariza. I suggest watching the game and not just making up facts as you go along.

You do realize you're comparing a head coach to a general manager. You've definitely got some screws loose. Did you gloss over the part about Morey building this team for a run for 2010-2011 because we've got a ton of money not playing on the floor each night? That's a HUGE reason for saying "next year".

maybe on ONE SIDE OF THE COURT
    on the other side
I doubt he was as productive as battier in his whole of last year

I think Morey will do the best he can.....I just hope he does not get paralysis analysis and not pull the trigger because he likes the guys on the team.

You have to disassociate yourself from the people and think of them as assets.

Sometimes that is hard to do.

Rockets are giving up more then 95 points a game, so where is the defense you are talking about. You got Ariza shooting 15 shots a game and making 2,
you go Battier who has a better shot then Ariza only taking 5 shots.

You need offense at this point not defense, if you cant score even if you play good defense you wont win

Now they are sending Jermaine Taylor to the D-League and bringing up Will Conroy...I believe in Morey and Adelman a great deal, but with nothing being done to shake things up with the lineup and limit Ariza's minutes are just bad decisions. Now I am all for keeping Ariza because I still think that when Yao comes back that he is going to be a key ROLE player, but you can't just let him go out there for 35-40 minutes a game and shoot 8-21, 4-17, 4-16, every night. Something has to give, even if we don't get a Superstar player for Mac (which everyone should know that we more than likely won't) get a proven scorer. Mix the lineup up, I like Andersen and think that when he catches his groove that he will do fine as well, but he can't guard NBA big men right now. Last night it was just awful watching him try to guard Nene, you brought Dorsey from the D-League for a reason, because he is a big body who controls the paint and boards. If we can't control the paint and can't get rebounds, why not put in the person that we brought for that reason?

I'll bet it's a lot easier in the past week or two.

It's that thought process that gets teams in trouble when they rush into bad moves. I would love to see a deal go down if it makes us better. I don't want to see DM make a trade just to make one. You can't have a "just do something attitude."

Let's be honest, they have over-achieved all year.

I bet that at the beginning of the season, not many people saw this team as a playoff contender (if so, your were like me and thought they could maybe get the 8 seed). But the way they started the season, all of our expectations for them became higher. In my opinion, there's only so long the team can play so hard and have so much energy before they get worn out.

The fact is that they just aren't that good, and Morey is building for the future. Right now nothing is burning on the trade front, but that will change as we get closer to the deadline. The problem with that, is that we could possibly be out of contention by then. But I trust that Morey will continue to make solid moves for this organization!

We had a lot of opportunities before last season, and I only heard the talking of "equal value", now the real value is only an expiring contract. Damn it.

I don't see why everyone's making a big fuss about this year's team being in the lottery when the expectation from the outset was a .500 team, nothing more. Many expected the team to struggle along at .500 then hoped that the return of TMac would provide a push for the playoffs. Well, we didn't need TMac this season to go through the toughest schedule yet at 24-21, still be in contention for the playoffs and having seen some of our youngsters take the next step. Just because we had a good start to the season doesn't mean that we're magically contenders with this roster.

Regardless of who we get for TMac in a trade, we're not going to be able to go past the second round of the playoffs. In 05-06, we finished with 30+ wins and made the jump to 52 the next season with the relatively healthy duo of Yao and TMac. What's to say that this won't be repeated next season, with an improved Yao (albeit coming in from a year off), a newly signed/traded-for supporting star, and a better supporting cast?

All these fairweather fans who wish for the extremes ("championship this season or John Wall!") need to relax and respect our guys for giving their all every night and making the most of what they have, instead of chastise them for what they're not. We're not going to be contenders this season regardless of what we do, so forget about it and let nature run its course.

Rockets should make the moves this trading deadline. There is no guarantee that they will land the big FA this Summer. I believe all of them will stay with their current team. I would much prefer just to do the Sixers deal if it is still around, reason being is that you get a good SG and C(just in case Yao gets injured again, nothing is set in stone). Whatever Morey decides to do I hope he makes the moves and not wait till the Summer.

It does'nt look like Justice researched well for this column. He said James is actually the most likely to leave (it's Bosh) and the Dalembart was a low-post presence which he's not, he's a rebounder and shotblocker.

Reading some of the comments by so-called Rockets fans on here makes me think that there are no more level headed people around. I'll trust Morey to make the right decision, because the majority of his actions have not given me a reason to do otherwise. I'll also trust Adelman to make that team competitive, because that's what he's done with a collection of role players.

People need to wake up and realize that they've been spoiled this season. This team was not built to win THIS YEAR! Any move made with McGrady's contract will be done with the future in mind. Get your heads out of your rears and be proud this team is still in contention.

could this losing streak be a blessing in disguise?

Wouldn't next years draft pick be bait for us to acquire an all-star player?

All i know is that this feeling sucks. The "meh, they lost again...how cares" feeling.

Yea DD, In an interview earlier this year Morey said something along the lines of, "I don't think of these guys as pieces, I think of them of people". That could cause problems. Don't get me wrong I love ALMOST everyone on this team, and I would hate to see them get traded, but it's not Morey's job to be a friend to these guys, it is to win a championship.

You can still be a friend, even if you have to trade them to make the team better.

His job is to do exactly that. Sometimes that is hard, let's hope he is good at it.

You can still have a heart and make heartless decisions...
