true. He played bad....but Bud, Patterson, Hill played played bad before. Thing is you think because he lacks an allround game his days might be numbered soon.
I agree to a certain extent. As long as there is need for bench scoring he will be around. I think Adelman must really love him. That is why a player like Von will not be coming until JT is off our roster.

DD, you are clearly an extremely passionate fan. Nothing wrong with that. We are also all here for Rockets discussion. Nothing wrong with that. Just giving you a few pointers on areas for improvement. Much like for JT.

Haha, okay DD here you go: http://rafer.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=164846&page=3&pp=20

Though I'm not sure what more context you need. You were pretty clear in your statement.. nothing ambiguous about it? If it helps, you also quoted yourself in that thread after nobody responded to your first post.

Please don't come back asking me for MORE context expecting me to show you every thread that was on the BBS that day though..

Perfect, that is a great example of what I am talking about, that team had two offensively challenged wings starting in Battier and Artest, Von could have been starting ahead of them, he needed more time.

Why? Because of the spacing he provided for Yao, and the offensive threat he provided for the team, having Shane and Ron start was just not very effective, IMO.

    Again, context is everything.

Not even close, some people follow me around like a lost puppy and snipe at comments out of context.

Why? Either certain folks can not understand context, or they are too stupid to get it, or they are just ignoring it for the sake of arguing, or I am not clear enough.....you choose.

Look, let's not make it about me, but about JT.

He is improving but he is not rotational material yet.....still relies too much on his athleticism, and not enough on his melon.

    .....
Then enlighten me what did I not understand.
You thing he's a good fit, there are thousands better. You think he's cheap to be had, I'd rather wait for other who has that god talented gift and the work ethic
ppl have different opinions.... I am not sure you get that
I do think there are other aspects of the game, other positions which you can turn your attention to other than the wing spot....

I can respect that you don't agree, I have no issue with folks who think Von is not good enough...that is a certainly a legitimate opinion.

And you should realize I have my attention on the entire team, not just JT, that is just a discussion contained in this thread.

I'd argue that logic is everything. Don't tell the world you only thought of him as a fringe/back end rotational player back then when you clearly were debating starting him over either of the two better defenders in the NBA. If you thought he should be starting over either Battier or Artest, that is certainly no where near a fringe or back of the rotation role player, as you have recently claimed.

or you are simply wrong. i realize this is a foreign concept for you, but admitting to mistakes instead of blindly defending them tooth & nail for years would probably save you a lot of argument here.

That was a different conversation, in that situation he was borderline starter material.....

Do you understand how that situation is different than the one today?

Or do you feel that it is appropriate to bring up old discussions that have no bearing on the current one that is going on?

What does Von Wafer getting more minutes on that particular team have to do with this thread?

This is 100% what I am talking about, you are just being obtuse to be obtuse....

    Pipp,

I am wrong a lot, and admit as much.....I have no problem admitting I am wrong....I do have a problem with folks misreprenting previous discussions just to be an arse.

Actually that was opinion from the beginning. There are several ways and several positions to improve the roster upon.
Battier IMO won't be around much longer and Ariza might be traded, with Martin we don't necessarily need a Von type player. I respect his offensive game. I'd rather talk about big man to be honest.

I agree, that is why I don't see JT seeing an NBA floor unless there are injuries.

If you want to talk bigs, start a thread...be happy to join you.

you are deluding yourself in your own little grandiose world. people don't follow you around, they just get annoyed when you habitually make asinine comments and then follow them up with "you're stupid"

Pippen, just look at any thread I start and you will see the same people in there starting an argument and sniping.

You may not see it, but I do...every thread...even ones where I say things like.....what about Maarty Leunen? Just talking options and immediatly I get trolls slamming me...it is not imagination, it is fact.

I am like Thomas Jefferson, been around too long and said too much.

I get tired of the sniping and hit back......by calling them out.....

Nah, the trolls have been following me for years......it is what it is....

I was not talking to you Pipp, I was talking to those that follow me around and take stuff out of context.

Look this is about JT, let's get it back on track...........it is not about what I think about Von, or posters that just want to pick a fight.

It is about JT.....that is it...and I am going to stick to it.

Now as it stands I also have my doubts about our second year players and rookies alltogether.
It's going to be a catfight. I don't think we can get the 3-6 seed so easily as you stated previously.
