When you start an argument, try to be civil and not call someone insane, it doesn't make you look good.

AB is very difficult to replace, as is Kyle Lowry......and Kmart is great, I like him but we are OVERLOADED with wings, while we would get a different type of player starting, we are loaded with guys that could replace him in:

    CLee
    Twill
    CBud

They are all different and would change the team dynamic, but they could all take his place.

Also, I would not trade anyone on the Rox for a Melo rental, wtf for? This season is over...Melo doesn't play defense.

This reads like Rockets marketing...."HEY FANS, we are still trying to get Melo !"

    Wink wink...yeah, whatever.

Well, we could include T-Will instead of that pick, they would surely prefer it.
BTW, why wasn't T-Will introduced with a press conference?

Sometimes you give up too much to get a star players, as was the case when the Rockets traded away Sam Cassell and Robert Horry for Charles Barkely years ago. Granted Barkely was older and not in his prime but the point being is that we would likely have to part with the draft picks, AB, and/or Martin. Then what? That's not a championship team. Then we don't have any draft picks to get better and we'll be marginally improved the therefore miss out on future high draft picks.

What's the solution? I think Morey needs to be patient, develop the young players on the roster, and hang onto the draft picks. Try to draft a young athletic shot blocker and in a few years he can throw all his money at a young up-n-coming star in Blake Griffin.

    Would you rather have
Lawson, Aflalo, Morrow, Nene, Favors with 3 mid to late first round draft picks and one possible higher lottery pick between 8 and 14

    or would you rather have
Lawson, Aflalo, Battier, Nene, Scola, Hill with 3 mid to late first round draft picks

    or possibly
Lawson, Martin, Budinger, Nene, Hill with 3 mid to late first round draft picks

    or possibly
Lawson, Aflalo, Gerald Wallace, Nene, Scola with 3 mid to late first round draft picks

    or possibly
Lawson, Aflalo, Iggy, Nene, Patterson with 3 mid to late first round draft picks

These are all possible combinations if we trade Yao's contract to a team wanting to do a salary dump. We have $20 million in expiring contracts between Yao and Hayes and if you throw in Jeffries and our trade exception, we can take back even more salary, if necessary. We could leave Denver with a combination of draft picks and talent that is at least equivalent to what NJ is offering plus taking back all their salary dump.

IF Denver really thinks Favors is all that, then obviously they are going to stay after him. But IF their confidence wavers that he is actually good enough to build around, then we may be on to something.

And another point, IF Denver is going to make Favors their centerpiece to a rebuild, THEN they should probably move Nene. He is paid a lot of money and if they are going to build around Favors, that is a 3 to 4 year project. Nene will be over the hill by then. They'll have to consider moving him for more talent/picks. They may be ready to do that if indeed they move Melo for the Nets package.

morey is like that desperate dude who tries to get with the hot chick, but always gets rejected. but yet he always comes back until she slaps him in the face a bajillion times.

superstars/or borderline superstars take precedence over picking a position to fill.

you have carmelo anthony and emeka okafor available, who the hell would you go for?

Carmelo is not worth all the attention he's getting -- from Clutchfans or the Rockets organization.

he's a legit all-star you can build around; he's a top 10 player. so no, he is worth the attention. the league is star-driven. so from a winning and business point of view, if you can go get a star, you try to go get him.

Hey DD who is the last shoot-first PG to win a championship?

    derek fisher...
    tony parker...
    rajon rondo...

billups has been the only one in like the last 2 decades!

you have a man crush on AB i understand that.. frankly i do to..
scoring pg's are nice. they win games, but they aren't tom brady's they are micheal vicks.. if that makes sense?

kyle lowry reminds me of a Fisher-esque type player, or a short poor man's rondo with a better shot.. you complain about defense all the time, but lowry's a way better defensive point guard in my opinion

    it's basketball 101.. kyle lowry IS a better pointguard..FACT
AB is a more talented basketball player.
but he's a midget shooting guard, a great one at that.

what's the point of having a shooting guard when that is pretty much all AB is good at.

in my mind aaron brooks is a better PLAYER.. but when you have Kmart you don't need him.. He's far better along side an athletic defender like lee, and an athletic SF with great vision and passing ability like T-will.. i'd love to see them three play together more often..

it's like captain planet man you gotta have all the different parts comin together to create a beast.

I may have to check the salaries, but I'd rather have Okafor. Actually that's a pretty easy one. Rockets are 6th in offense w/o Anthony. Give me Okafor and I'm content closing games with Brooks/Martin/whomever over Anthony. It's not like we're talking about Bryant/Wade/Dirk/etc here.

I tend to agree with this, or at least its a wash to me. Carmelo will not significantly improve our offense, and he's not going to address our defensive issues either.

We're not talking about a LeBron-Wade-Kobe (or even Nash) type that can truly transform an offense.

I've never had a problem with your DD, DD, but the size of your signature is getting out of hand. It's hard to tell where your posts end and the signature begins. Seriously! Find some shrink wrap or something! ;-)-

thank god morey doesn't think like that. or else he would be fired.

easy logic is you take superstars/borderline superstars anytime you can get him (unless you already have one). no questions asked. case closed. once you get that star, you build around that player and build a team you want to become.

I don't know what Melo player you've seen, but this guy is basically unstoppbale on offense. He has a sick mid-range game and can blow by anyone and finish strong at the rim. The guy's also a beast on the block when he decides to take his man in the post. And lastly, the guy has 3-point range if needed.

His defense isn't that great but compared to Kevin Martin he'll look like Gary Payton in our line-up.

So yes this guy is legit and deserves all the attention he gets from the Rockets organization.
