If anything, Battier is the ONLY player I see Minnesota takes interest in on our team. I think whether or not we can get Rubio depends on just how much the Wolve value Shane's "intangibles". Battier's stock cannot be any higher than he is right now.
Wow, if Morey could swing getting Rubio. That would be impressive. Morey earns his money, I can see that. Man gets things done. Might not pan out, but he gets things DONE with draft picks!!!! Brooks - I hear he was an Adelman pick all the way Landry - bought for money (has played extremely well) Dorsey - bought for money (has yet to get on the court) Daunte Green + Omri Caspi = Ron Artest (awsome deal!!!!) Nobody else drafted under Morey is in the NBA. Leunen, the Australian player, the Israel player. Go Rockets!!!!!
1) The pros think Rubio will be an all-star. 2) We would probably have to involve a 3rd team, just because it's hard to match what we have with what they need, unless they want to just accumulate trading pieces. 3) We have plenty to offer, if we want him bad enough. We could throw in Scola instead of Landry. Brooks. Battier. Artest. Tracy. Also, we can take back some bad contracts. If you forget the win-now thing, I think he is probably worth Scola and Brooks. The Rockets have been on a youth kick for a few years now, so win-now isn't the only thing that matters to them. I think, to them, over 09-10, Scola and Brooks for Rubio would be a wash, or close, considering we have Landry. If we get a decent backup C, they will help close the PF gap.
1) AB will not be going to minny in any trade for Rubio. They just drafted 4 guards. 2) His stock may not be so high especially after that statement from his father. So if morey do get to trade for him. It will be nothing less than a steal. Possible Battier and wafer.
This kid sure thinks highly of himself. Even more of an issue is the Rockets giving up so much to get him that they don't have enough left to acquire the quality big man and veteran point guard that they still need.
are people not reading my posts completely?? I dont know why people keep asking me about Pau when i mentioned like 6 spanish players, i never singled Pau out or implied he needed to bulk up. Does he need to bulk up to be succesful? Of course not, he's already an all-star this way. Could it help him some? Maybe, some more muscle may help him some, but he's not who this discussion is about. My point is just that Spanish players don't seem to like heavy lifting or adding any kind of weight. It's not as easy as "oh i'm sure they'll put him on a program", if there really is some truth to them not liking to lift, then he will not lift, period. Not every player is treated like Yao, a lot of players refuse to lift heavier or at all and don't follow the teams recommendations.
Kenny Smith was not very good at all! That Dude drove to lane with his eyes closed. That guy got cut in Detroit because he could not even cover anyone in practice. Just because that scrub is on TNT does not make him good. That guy knicked named his self. If anyone ever called him "The Jet" its because players would jet right by his defense. We have not a real point guard since Sleepy Floyd...and Bob Sura did good for a season. And maybe Randy Livingston for a few games.
i think he was sick initially and then extended his stay in Sac and eventually did workout for them, but it was a solo workout..
I think that if he stays another year or two at Hogwart's it will be good for him. ^^Daniel Radcliffe ^^Ricky Rubio
we're not talking muscle-filled players here, in baseball and football strength is very very important at certain positions...in basketball, not so much. Very few basketball players lift, or have to lift, like the power hitters in baseball or the linebackers of football. Even with steroids you still have to put in the work inside the gym, NBA players would look a lot bigger than they do now if they were taking steroids, maybe some take them, but i'd be surprised if it was more than a very small percentage. Even with all the testing, i dont think steroids has ever been a big problem in the NBA and some players have spoken about it and don't think it ever will for the reason i stated, they dont need to be super strong. Players would probably laugh if someone approached them with steroids...
Rubio fits Adelman's style but I don't see how he fits with Yao on the floor. Rubio excels in an up tempo, fastbreak style game. Slow the game down and his best skills are negated. The guy not only can't shoot, he won't shoot. He went long stretches of games in the Olympics without taking a shot from what I remember. Defensively he gets his hands on a lot of balls in the passing lanes but offensively, I just don't see how he fits in with Yao on the floor other than the fact that he'll have no trouble getting the ball to Yao unlike most of our perimeter guys. Rubio has the size to see the floor and should be able to get Yao the ball pretty easy but when Yao passes the ball back out Rubio is just going to make another pass, not take the shot.
