Yes, it means no trade of TMac unless a Nash-level (proved all-star) invovles. DM is no dummy.

Amare is already on the decline and he is injury prone. Still a great player but his best days are behind him thanks to microfracture and all the other nagging injuries he seems to get each season.

Yes, He is no dummy. Given the right scenario He will pounce on it. Standing Pat is no issue. He has an ace up his sleeves and We will all be surprised. He did it before so chances are He could do it again.

Morey traded away Rafer and he was all for hiring Adelman.

This could end up hilariously disastrous for McGrady. He spent this year arguing with half a dozen doctors saying he was unable to play while they assured him he could. Next season, a team may not want him playing in order to save $$ so team doctors could very well do their best to label him injured while he will be arguing he is fit to play so that he can try to garner interest for a new contract in 2010-2011. Irony.

    Karma is a B, Tracy.

Sounds like the blog post is deliberately suppose to get fan expectations back down to a realistic level. That it's unlikely we'll nab a top ten pick, and that Tracy probably won't yield more than an aging star in return. Everything written has a ring of truth to it, so I think it's a pretty legit rundown.

MattJ just said on 610... he doesn't expect McGrady with the Rockets when training camp starts... he said he thinks there will be movement on draft night or after draft night

I took the complete opposite from that article. I don't know how this isn't being discussed in this very thread - the fact that McGrady's contract is insured is absolutely huge.

i'm literally shocked that has somehow been glossed over. that point itself deserves atleast 5 new threads alone.

So you're saying, redao, Morey doesn't always know what he's doing?

Trade TMAC for Cat + Hughes (both expiring) + #8 pick

Trade Landry + Brooks + Hughes for #2 (Rubio) + trash contract (Jaric?)

Trade # 8 pick + Cat (insured expiring) for C. Butler

-NY gets TMAC for a year for basically # 8 pick
-Memphis slashes longer term salary whilst getting Brooks and Landry for # 2
-Wash slashes about 20 mil over 2 years (Cat should be fully insured?) while landing # 8 (they also have #5)
-Houston gets Rubio and Butler for TMAC, Brooks, Landry

Houston lets Artest walk. Signs R. Wallace to for mid level. Resigns Wafer.

    Houston's Lineup:

    Rubio / Lowry
    Butler / Vafer
    Shane
    Luis / Hayes
    Yao / Wallace

Yes, I know he's no dummy. I just mean people want to trade Tmac for like Amare and something else when it's not proven that Amare can play on his own without Nash (just an example by the way). Either way, regardless of the rumors and speculations, we either make a really great trade or nothing at all - the risk is too great that Tmac might return for his contract year and do well against us especially playing alongside players like Nash.

decline? he still put up 21.4ppg on 54% fg despite sharing the ball with a shaq who was whining for more touches and he was playing hurt.

he had his best year just 2 years ago on 25ppg on 58%fg (excellent for a guy who does shoot jumpers).

good. i like going into training camp with certain expectations and zero drama/questions.

it'll be good for both parties, as both want change.

Rockets standing pat? Just tinkering? Not if they can help it.

    Translation:
Rockets Standing Pat? Be ready the Rocket's plans might not work out!

Just Tinkering? Be ready for only a minor adjustment to the Roster!

Not if they can help it. Be ready, Morey has lots of irons in the fire and .
might bring about a number of surprises if his deals
    go through. :p

No, frankly it doesn't thacab... now if you can some how find the words (or letters) making out "Yao," "unknown," and "Cavs"... now that deserves 5 new threads.

If we must discuss the issue of an insured Tmac contract at all, I suppose it boils down to this. Getting Tmac in a trade now means saving money and possibly getting a contributor. That caveat, the "possibly" part is no longer a deterrent but an added bonus. If Tmac does come back (words that often times are found worthy of new threads themselves) then good for them, if he doesn't, even better. You turn a risk or gamble into the best part of the deal. You might be on to something thacab, that might be a little big deal. Suddenly a lot of other rumors start making sense, especially those involving cash strapped franchises. They don't want Tmac or a "massive expiring" at the end of next season. They want his insured K and a means to immediate financial relief.

Morey saying the team is "Standing pat", simply is a message to cash strapped teams that if you want Tracy's contract of which the rockets don't necessarily have to trade, you had better bring your best offer because the rockets aren't going to trade him for spare parts. Morey obviously wants something significant coming back to the rockets for Tracy. The insurance clause in T-Mac's contract probably makes Morey the most popular GM in the league right now.

THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!! What is it about Hinrich that people her at CF love so much ? He's no better than AB or Lowery. He's average at best and thats it !!!!!! I'll take a 100 year old Nash or Kidd over him any day.....
