i gotta hunch Boki might get traded b4 the Oct 30 deadline to extend his contract comes up now....maybe we get a low 1st rounder or high 2nd rounder out of it....just looks like JVG prefers having Padgett in when he needs a shooter or Bowen in when he needs hustle....both of those guys fill each of these respective roles better than boki can fill either...
NIKEstrad xiki-What makes you think that? What does Boston have that we could possibly want, short of a TE+ for Payton, who IMO is out of our price range/needs this year? Reportedly. Supposedly. Ainge is a Boki 'fan'. Ainge already traded Banks once and has depth at the 1/2. The money works 'like a glove'. Reportedly. Supposedly. Nets like/want Banks. So, I am sitting here and wondering if there is a potential three way with a guy like AWilliams (whom I really like) [or even a healthy/is he healthy enough??? Zo] with whatever pieces and/or TE to work the details. It just feels like something that could be talked about by the various powers that be. Is it a reach? Of course. But is it a silly stretch? No, I think not.
Man I'd love to see Boki here in Boston. I just fell in love with the guy after that Karla Malone incident in game 3, or is it 4?
Dangit, I wasn't looking at first names ... I thought we were getting BRUCE Bowen, who Peja Stojakovic said was the toughest defender in the NBA. Oh well ... anyone know anything about him, besides him being "a scrappy hustle player?
you took the words right out of my mouth. Can anyone tell me where this guy is from and what kind of game he has, or much les, even his first name?
it will more of JVG giving boki a fair chance. see boki is a RUDY player, and JVG has totally gotten all his players around YAO, Im not so sure that means equality for Boki.
If Boki can't handle the competition, he shouldn't be here anyway. Boki has the entire training camp to whoop up on a guy who got one guaranteed year from the Rockets. As for the season opening roster, you can bet that guys like Zimmerman will never make the cut. The Rockets are bringing in extra guys to fill out the camp roster, but that's it.
Well, this is probably the end of the Boki era. The Rockets haven't picked up the option on his fourth year (and I don't see us do it). I think that he will just be let go after sitting on the bench the entire year again. Anothe wasted first-round pick. On the other hand, I like Bowen as a player. I think that he could fill a role on this team.
I guess Boki hasn't shown any improvement to JVG. Well, Bowen gets his chance, but I still think Boki is going to show something.
I guess this is good news for us, even us Boki fans. We got some roster depth, and if Boki sees playing time, it will be because he earned it. If he can't beat out the SF equivalent of Juaquin Hawkins, he doesn't deserve to be on the team and get the easy pickings that should be available with Yao and TMac on the court. Play your heart out Boki! Never stop hustling! The BOFO 's are cheering for ya! BOFO : Boki Only Fan Organization BOFO History: The seed for BOFO was born in Game 3 of the playoffs, when Karl Malone tried to take out a rising young role player for the Rockets, and was duly punked. BOFO eligibility: Anyone who understands the phrase Boki "3 minutes of Fury" Nachbar.
You may be right, but I tend to agree with mograd that we are a little unbalanced. If Sura stays out for very long, that leaves us: Ward, Lue, Gaines, Zimmerman - PG TMac, JJ, Gaines - SG JJ, Nachbar, Bowen - SF Howard, Taylor, Weatherspoon, Padgett - PF Ming, Deke - C but realistically for a 9 man rotation it's: Ward, Lue - PG TMac, JJ - SG JJ, Nachbar or Bowen - SF Howard, Taylor - PF Ming, Deke - C We are a very thin especially in the SG area. Sliding JJ over increases his minutes and he needs as much rest as McGrady - maybe more. But if that does happen, then Nachbar and Bowen will see some pretty significant minutes at SF. If JJ slides he'd shift 12 of his 35 minutes to SG which leaves 23 minutes at SF. That leaves 25 minutes per game open for SF and that's too many minutes for either one (or both) of these guys in my opinion. Gaines backing up McGrady is very risky for more than a few minutes (<5) in a few games (<5). Has Nachbar ever played SG? I see you say certain assignments, but I think he'd be toasted in most all assignments including backups. Playing someone out of position or giving someone more minutes than they've proven that they deserve doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. But you may be right and anything is possible but I see the above as plan C. Plan B should be to find a true backup SG would could play a solid 12 minutes and let JJ hold down the fort at SF. {As much as I didn't like the Sura signing, I do see that we need - and still do - a backup SG.}
