Yeah i think with the signing of those two player the rockets might be saying bye to Landry and Taylor in a deal, and hopefully Cook & Barry as well!!! Probably something to get us a big, but who!?!?!?! PS. I'm really hoping that Morey is able to steal NY 1st round (unprotected) draft pick from the Jazz!!!!! - rocketblaze
What makes you think Jazz will give that top5 2010 pick away??? But we need to trade Battier before we even think about trading Landry...Battier and Ariza just don't fit on the same team together.........
You think Miami would do a little Battier/Landry for Beasley/Haslem type of deal? Hell I would even throw in a PG
1st thing I thought about after the signing was this might open up room for a trade and with Landry now being able to be moved it got me thinking what could be had. Two trade scenarios I'd like to look at and have the pieces to trade for: Josh Smith - 4 years left on his contract starting at 10,800,000.00 while going up 800,000 each year. Travis Outlaw, Rudy Fernandez and/or Joel P. - All have flexible contracts and could be had in the right package.
Hmmm....Out of the above the only thing I'd think thats likely is "trade in a PG". Miami has got a strict 2010 plan with no one but Michael Beasley on the payroll past 2010...which is pretty damn stringent of them and their 2010 FA plan....so I'd say there is no way they'd take on Battier and his contract for ANYONE on their roster, even if we give them up for free. I don't think Morey would want anyone on the Heat roster anyways...except D-Wade of course lol but that aint gonna happen...(maybe when Wade becomes 35 and Morey comes along with his "tread-still-left-on-the-tires" pursuit of him I'm just not sure if Morey values his no-stats-all-stars players that he wouldn't give them away unless we get a much better player in return. Battier + Landry + Brooks for Rubio + 2010 first rounder?
One guy I would love to have is Jordan Hill. I would take freaking Eddy Curry's contract if it meant picking up that guy...OK, maybe not Eddy Curry.
I can't believe there is still somebody who wants Beasley. This guy is going straight on the Eddie Griffin crash course, and fast.
Yes yes, I like that guy, he's a beast. He's also really different off court than other players so that's a plus in my book
RA got Artest under control. Its another challenge. McCants is a talent headcase what scouts say. His tatoos are "born to be hated" and "dying to be loved". Seems to have a more serious mental problem than Artest.
You might be right, but on the other hand,he might be starting to recover from his rehab stint, although I have doubts about him as well. If he does well,Miami will not give him up.On the other hand,if he goes down the EG path, his career will be sadly over.
Quite surprised at all the accolades for a guy with a non-guaranteed contract. The guy probably has at most a 50/50 shot at even making the team. And some people are acting like he's already part of the rotation. I wonder how much the posters will complain when he gets cut later on.
A couple of things come to mind on this. I don't see Miami trading Beasley so soon after his stint in rehab. Granted, if it got them the right player, they'd jump at it. It might be a PR hit they don't want to take. If they did trade him now, they'd have to get out the spin department. Miami's holding onto big cap space for 2010. They might cut into that for a player that'd make Wade happy. So if you found a way to trade for Boozer---Landry + Budinger + Cook + Barry is about $10 mil of Boozer's $12 mil, and would save $4,000,000 for the Jazz due to luxury tax concerns---and sent Boozer to Miami for Beasley and Haslem.... Well, THAT won't happen either, because it brings me to a concern: Morey, Adelman, and Les might not take on Beasley if they think he might be coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs.
You guys are really overrating Shane Battier trade value. No way in the world the Heat would do that deal.
If Shane is going to be moved its got to be to a contender because he is the "missing" piece on most Championship teams. Miami is not there yet so they have little to no interest in Shane thats why Portland's name comes up alot because they are a "Shane Battier" away from being right there with the Lakers. Look at the East teams and see who might need him and what they would be willing to give up.
Uh the lakers have the second highest payroll at $76,759,733, while the rockets payroll is 13th at $65,392,249. I think if you added a player good enough to make 11 million a year plus healthy tmac and yao, WE SMOKE THE LAKERS...rockets will be just fine this year....watch..
