    What?????

The father missed a flight on purpose?

Steve missed a flight on purpose, did not tell the coach until the flight was leaving...how is THAT respectful.

Steve is the problem...and people like you who defend him are perpetuating the problem.

    Rocket, your logic is baffling.

    And the crowd goes WILD...

DD is on a roll, he's on FIRE, awesome BABY!

He's kicking a$$ and taking names...

Geez. ricerocket, your act grows very old, very, very quickly.

Some of us have grown tired of your endless JVG bashing. Give it a rest.

    DD couldn't be more right.

No, it's not incorrect. It just gives you zero useful information.

Another example: If you score more points than your opponent, you win.

The statement is absolutely correct. But it doesn't tell you anything about how to win a game.

JVG said that the way to win in the NBA is to have the right core. What is the right core? The one that wins ("if you have results"). Right, very informative.

What he was basically saying is that only the results will prove if you assembled the right core or not. You cannot prove it beforehand.

Not a revolutionary discovery, but a true statement nonetheless.

    Sydmil,

I would love for him to step up, I just do not think he is capable of it.

Therefore after 4+ years of hoping he steps up, I am ready for him to step out !!

Actually, the support for JVG's decision has been overwhelmingly positive, both from fans and the media. If you want to pin this on JVG instead of SF that's your call, but this entire incident does nothing but reinforce my opinion that JVG was the perfect choice to coach the Rockets.

PS: Steve Francis is a selfish loser.

Do you think he owes you an apology? It's quite possible (and even probable) that he apologized to his coach and his team and no one outside those ranks were supposed to hear it.

I like Dada's father comparison. I know when my kid screws up, I'm going to make sure the papers hear about it. :)

How can you really debate the heart of this team? I love the Rockets, always have, but our current lineup definitely lacks heart. Everytime we lose, they all openly admit that we didn't try hard enough, didn't give the max effort...

A team with heart plays 100% every game, and if they do not, they admit it (like we do) and go out the next game and play 100% (which we do not do).

This team lacks leadership...it's time for a player to step up and truly lead this team...get in the player's faces during the games that we are playing with lackluster effort.

It's so frustrating, b/c we are really talented and well coached

I totally agree with Dad akota too..

SF doesnt deserve any sympathy and should take his punishment like a man. He made his decision and he paid the consequence for it.

Issue is now over lets move on.

I think that would be fine if the agent had not made up the lies afterwards. Francis owes the public an apology for these lies - or a very truthful explanation of why they are NOT lies.

I hafta say that I pretty much agree with JVG. Remember back in the day when Charles Barkley was saying that "a champion doesn't die. You have to kill him." And Rudy T was talking about how the Rockets have "a heart of a champion."

You don't have to kill this Rockets team. We'll lay down and die for multiple games. And it's because we don't have that heart of a champion. We don't make teams kill us. We give up too easily. Instead of getting on JVG for saying it, how about we encourage the players to prove JVG wrong?

speaking of heart... I was watching the phx game the other day unfortunately. They showed the rox record when they were losing after the 1st quarter, I don't remember the exact figure, but it was pretty bad.
I think that tells you how much heart this current rox team has.

I hope steve steps up, really start to play well and play to win. And not trying to show up by scoring 50 and plays the steve francis against the world show.
