He is saying, Brooks is his "Go-To" guy. He would really like to see him Go-To another team :)

Brooks isn't strong enough. Sometimes it seems like he can't take a bump without losing the ball.

It's good to hear the coach confirm my observation all along.

    1. He is good at the stop and pop, but is not using it enough.
    2. He is not good at seeing his teammates when he is driving.

The first issue should be able to be corrected fairly easily.
The second one is not so easy because it involves innate court vision. But he may be able to learn to slow down and help his play making abilities. We'll see.

Cool assessment there by Adelman. Aside from looking for the jumper, those missing attributes aren't really things you learn IMO. Its basically what separates a Chris Paul from Aaron Brooks.

This is good. Another thing to note about Nash's career, he was playing with an established M Finley and a up and coming Dirk in his third year in Dallas. Both good scorers. AB still has to wait on that to arrive. It's coming.....

DD - Do you think that Adelman is not considering Yao Ming?
Or is he only talking about the team as it is for this season?
Won't Brooks be hindered greatly when he tries to score at the basket
when Yao comes back, surely he will be forced to pass off more at that
    time. :p

Not at all, Brooks will be the spot up shooter when Yao gets double teamed.

And Battier or Ariza will be the post entry passer.

Brooks will be the guy at the top of the key waiting for the swing pass or kick out for the wide open 3 ball.

I remember Adelman said Ariza was a go-to closer. He changed his idea?

When did he say that. They always said they brought in Ariza for his defense and that his defense alone was worth his contract. They wanted to see if he can develop into a scorer as well, since he has all the phsyical attributes to be one, just none of the techniques.

AB has the ability to stop on a dime and should really do it a lot more often to break away from defenders. He also still has trouble changing gears when driving against or by the D. This actually comes from experience and it is important to note that AB really hasn't had that much experience as a playmaker, being his first year to start the season as a starter. He has just proved he can be a scorer, give him a year or two before you give up on him being a playmaker as well. Hell it took Tony Parker long enough but look at him now.

Adelman did say Ariza was a go-to player at the 1st month of the season.

What you mentioned is the words that Morey said.

He is a "Go To" player.

When Ariza gets the ball, it automatically "Goes to" the other team.

As Laura and JV asked, more politely, please get rid of that crap at the bottom of your posts! Leave it there and you, sir, are "the Real Idiot."

But in Nash's 1st year, Danny ainge had predicted Nash would be as good as Jason Kidd. Till now Nobody predicted AB a Kidd.

That is not saying much at all as far as potential closers we have on this team. Hopefully DM pulls off a robbery of a trade and we find a closer that way. AB is not the guy.

Hah, I have the threads to back me up, all you got is bluster.

Like this Aaron Brooks is the answer thread in Dec 2007

I saw you run from the Conroy challenge after I posted that it might mean Lowry is gone....and then you claimed you did, and I showed proof in the Rio Grande Vipers thread......and you ran like a scared puppy.

Come on, don't run from this too.

    ;)
