It's cool. Some of these people just don't have soul and weren't a part of the history.

Keep it fresh Tin Man, and the rest of you need to Chilax...

I found this to be the most relevant of tinman's recent threads, yet it's recieving the highest percentage of b****ing.

It's a striking parallel though. I was around in those days and remember what it was like to be truly disrespected. If some of you guys can't honestly see in what light this article puts the whining and moaning lately around here about who said what in their season preview, then you're missing the point entirely.

Keep up the good fight tinman.

    thanks AstroRocket,

I know you read the article and it brought back memories. if the jealous haters would just read the article, they would understand how OUTRAGEOUS it was back then the REAL DISRESPECT. They wouldn't do that now if the BOBCATS won the title. Lets not forget the extreme negative press the city of Houston got too. They called this place "HELL" when we played the Knicks.

AstroRocket = from the Jim Dugan / IW Marks / Matress Mac Rocket fans
Haters = Paris Hilton/ Britney Spears Rocket fans

    its part of the fun.
this is a chronicle article and that's what it's title was. i'm following the rules.

yes the memory was horrible and people are b****ing about stupid articles written by comedians. it's like these fans now are from LA not Houston. they get angry cause Barkley or Simmons or Arsenio Hall doesn't give a shout out to the Rockets. they'd break their nails.

Back in the day, you'll never see Dream marketed like Yao or Tmac. You can't go anywhere without seeing Tmac or Yao selling stuff. And guess what?
Dream is one of the greatest players of alltime.

Prime Dream > Yao + Tmac (combined with their best years)
Go watch the Sonics game in the early 90s where Dream gets Quadruple teamed and still dropped 40pts 20 boards.

call me the Bill Cosby of Clutchfans cause they need to know this. Theo!

I like this article, as its interesting to me. I did not know that happened even though I was in Houston at the time. But everybody's right, misleading titles are irritating.

The point is not that we got snubbed in 94 and we're still upset. The point is we won it all and still got snubbed, so what makes anybody think it should be different today??

It takes FAR more energy to post an asinine cut on resident historian tinman than to simply click backspace and find yourself a thread you don't hate. Misleading title? Almost all the thread titles are misleading.

I remember when SI did this, I was in the second grade and it literally broke my heart. I learned to read on the Astros section of the Chronicle and SI has been my bible, and it was probably more devastating to me than it should be. The Steelers got commemorative yellow and black footballs and we had a limited edition pressing? True disrespect, I for one have not forgotten.
