The responsibility solely rests on JVG to change the team's attitude. You think Francis is going to change himself? That's why JVG sucks and should be fired, now!!

I think one of the problems Rox have now is they are playing with no passion. It seems that everybody is so depressed. They are having no fun, they are playing lifeless b-ball. I believe nobody can grow into a great player if he plays with no passion. Just like T-mac at in the early season talking about quiting b/c he was so depressed. I hope Rox organization can find some way to light up players desire to play and win.

    ricerocket and Mr. Clutch,

You are both correct.... It's both the Coach and the players fault.

It's hard for any coach to teach or guide players if they don't want to listen or to execute the plays. A coach has to have full control and trust that the players will do what they are suppose to do. It is a players responsibility to listen and excute the coach's plan. Not to have their own ideas on how to run things the way they want to

But on the flip side... It's a coach's responsibility to take charge of those players... With discipline... Not crying to the media.. the only thing that you will accomplish by crying to the media, is having players who will not stand by you in the time of war. VG needs to have strong discipline with these guys and to keep all the dirty laundry inhouse and stop taking his dirty laundry to the media.

It'd be interesting if we could line up all the Rudy bashing last year alongside with JVG bashing this year and compare them. Oh, and line up all the bashers' names too. :D

I vehemently disagree. Yes, the coach calls the plays, but if the play is "broken", such with the fronting and double-teaming of Yao, it is the players that have to respond and react appropriately. Coaching does not specifically determine when to pass and who to pass to if the play is "dead".

Who decides to leave Yao in the low post? Why did he not leave the low post to the high post in order to shoot jumpers? Who makes the decisions? I think it's the coach.

If Yao Ming is not getting the ball in the post position he immediately comes out to set screens and picks proper for the roll. That is Yao understanding that the position in the post is not there, for whatever reason. In the case with the Rockets, there is time to run one play from the coach in a possession, possibly two if efficient. There is not enough time for coach Van Gundy to dictate every move.
