    Tracy either :

    1. Takes on a backseat to a Yao/Artest led team

    or

    2. Sulks his way out of town.

His leadership credentials have officially been revoked.....it really is.."all on him" now.

Did you not watch the Toronto game last week where he quit???? Have you not noticed that he doesn't defend AT ALL anymore? That he never moves on offense unless he's handling the ball?

    Probably #2
If he does stick around though I wouldn't be surprised if he went Tracy McGrady on everyones ass in the playoffs and leads the team. He always does.

On the other hand... There is something else he never does in the playoffs... Hmm

i still have faith in t-mac...he is one of the few players in the league who can put up a triple double on one leg...

the big three experiment's success or failure now largely rests on whether t-mac can play up to his potential.

How could it be bad? We can't get any worse from there.

i wouldn't say the word "quit." if he quit, he wouldn't made an effort to try harder v. philly.

he had a bad start to the game, and mentally let the knee controlled how he played and thus didn't put more effort into the game. that has happened quite a few times this year.

but knowing that, he came back and put a better effort v. philly.

He did play harder at least on O, but he was terrible on D...except for a couple of late steals.

He left his teamates out to dry by not rotating on D all night long in Philly.

Only in that he is a crazy man.......but if he is all we got.....sign me up !

I don't think tracy really cares what people say about him. I mean when you make 23m, why would you? I do like Artest telling it like it is. A leader has to be one of your better players. He can't be scared if some teammates don't like him because, every teammates isn't going to like you. You have to be able to hold people accountable by your actions and words. I like him stepping up because its in him and the team really needs him to do it. Its hard for rafer, shane or even Yao to speak up and criticize others. Ron doesn't mind and he will take it head on. Its still 1 game though.

I agree but to me this is a monumental moment, one of the better players is actually stepping up to lead....which has not happened in a long time for the Rockets.

If I was Tracy I would choose to NOT physically or harshly confront Artest about these comments.

    He might end up hurt.

Injury bug is now becoming the locker room cancer, literally.

Our players go in and out, our chemistry breaks down.

It all comes down to one thing. Whether our players choose to let the injuries do the talking or let their talent do the talking.

McGrady needs to start letting his talent talk, his knee has spoken long enough.

Battier needs to let his defense talk as well

If our players can do that, then our team will be consistent. We're letting injuries do the talking, and it has been for the past few years.

Are our players going to sit and hope the injury goes away or play and ignore the injury bug?

Ron Ron is showing us an example of letting his talent talk. Not his injury.

It is leading. But then its just NON-threatening honesty and motivation without it being some takeover attempt.

Football players can talk to each other like absolute crap, but the basketballers gotta coddle each other. Please. I'd like to see how Ray Lewis handles a Tracy McGrady type on his defense.

*not our "Ray Lewis" of bball*

It seems to me like Ron was saying that McGrady has enough talent to be able to go on cruise control every now and then, but since they didn't have him, they had to work their butts off to win the game. I dunno, maybe it's just wishful thinking...

I doubt this gets ugly. Artest and Tracy will talk it over and Artest will backtrack publicly and it will work out.

Now whether you will see them cracking up together on the sideline again, I don't know. If yes, then you know they patched things up.

Battier's defense is always good.. even when he is injured.. its pathetic that u still don't understand his importance even after watching 4-5 games without him..

    - mcgrady said "i'm tired" after game 7...

    - so what? kobe once quit his team, too.

    - mcgrady didn't cheer for his teammates, ...

    - so what? where is battier? he's not even with the team.

can this type of logic stop, please? thank you.
