Artest is really impressive this year. If he keeps this up, he isn't the problem that we feared and hesitated signing but, rather, the answer.

I'm speechless. I just don't know what to say about Ron Artest

Yes, he is basically calling Tracy out about his lack of effort. Once it hits the papers like this, it can get ugly.

My guess...and that is all this is......is that Artest sees a lack of leadership and says....screw it....I will lead.

Which could be good, or bad.....but at least we might finally have a leader.

Finally someone has the balls to take Tracy's name and call his a** out. Great team effort and team defense.

ah oh. I hope this doesn't turn out bad... Mcgrady is a drama queen, I can only hope it does not.

this is something tracy has struggled with his entire career. he really only plays hard in the biggest games--ala the playoffs.

hopefully with injuries and age, tracy will make more of an effort to try "harder" during reg. season games. but he's also not fully healthy with the knee.

hopefully ron can talk with tracy face-to-face. ron's really the only guy who can do that.

I agree, unless it is a last resort, and by the sounds of all of it, the team and organization has been trying to get Tmac motivated, but have failed to do so.....

Which probably means Tmac has checked out, for whatever reason, and if that is the case, then it usually forces the team to act.

You don't think Yao could do that too?

Either way, it doesn't matter, the only real question is "Will Tracy do anything about it, or listen?"

lol!... do you remember someone saying this after this after a playoff game with Utah?

    "I was tired"

    No superstar would say that..

Ron has already called Tracy out....the other night he said Tracy needed to "be more of a dog"

It was in the "Rafer calls out T-Mac and Artest" thread

Screw it. Something needs to change...and TMac's effort is a major problem out there. Hopefully this will light a fire under his arse. I mean, it isn't like he could really tell the media (with a straight face) that he's been giving 100% out there.

tracy hasn't "checked out" on this team. if you follow him the past few years, injuries really take a toll with him mentally more than anything. and that boils over to the court and his play.

tracy just needs to clear his head, come to terms with whatever his knee is dealing with, and find a way to play through it. when he comes to terms with that, he'll play better.

i just think tracy is extremely pessimistic when it comes to his injuries.

I agree. But I thought Yao would be the right person to talk about Tracy in the media. I am wondering whether Ron-Ron has committed a mistake..

Drama queen could take advantage of this...

"Even my team mates doubt me... bu hooo hooo"

i don't think yao can do that. he's just not that type of player and he never will be. tracy needs someone to push him through this mental block with his knee right now. ron can say things in a way that tracy can understand.

Apparently TMac is the poison in the locker room now. It's such a shame that with so much talent, TMac gives up so easily. It seems like a trade is inevitable now.

I agree with that, but if it were all injuries, I don't think we would be reading about dissension in the locker room, or Rafer and Ron calling him out publicly, or Yao being unhappy with the team etc..etc..etc...

Once it hits the press it is generally hard to recover from as a team, usually, one player either apologizes and comes back strong, or the team moves on without him.

Do you think Tmac is the apologizing type?

Look, I do hope he comes back and plays hard, but right now Rafer is better than him because of his aggression and shot making ability and his willingness to play within the system.

I think Ron is really trying to get Tracy motivated with those words. He knows what kind of player Tracy can be hell we all know. Lets just hope this works.

Artest basically said, "We won tonight because we competed. TSlack, we lost last night because YOU didn't."
