Confirms my past posts that SAR and Swift would not sign for the MLE. Why would SAR who's making 11M a year sign for 5M a year or Stro that opted to sign a 1 year deal for the potential of a larger deal this year.

Sweet talking is only going to work with one of those FAs that become luxury tax casualties, guess we work from this list. Only guy I think that fills a need is Theo Ratliff and all these guys are going to be looked on as bargains by teams so CD better start taking Dale Carnagie classes because he is going to have to do some sweet talking to land one of these guys. I will sorely be disappointed if during this offseason we wind up with another Charlie Ward, Bobbie Sura, David Wesley or John Barry as the best player we get in FA.

    Allan Houston
    Jalen Rose
    Michael Finley
    Theo Ratliff

The article doesn't really mention any possibilites of a S&T. We won't be sign guys like Swift and SAR straight up, Marshall will probably collect a little over the MLE as well.

As far as players "wanting" to play here, I think we have a good chance at signing one of the 3 mentioned above.

We have hella expiring contracts and guys like Sura and James. I think any significant FA we get will be through a S&T.

PT on a contending team maybe? The teams below the salary cap(of which there are few) spending their $$$ on more desirable players?

If stro, SAR, and Donyell are all truly committed to getting away from the teams they were at, which it seems that they are, then there is no way that all of them are getting above the MLE(and I doubt any of them get significantly above the MLE) unless it's through sign and trade.

I'd actually be okay with that, even if like you said, we won't get the best PF. I just don't see a sure-fire fit out there in free agency, and I think it would be a mistake to overpay for anyone who isn't a sure-fire fit/last remaining piece on a contender.
