Bookmark this thread. This might be the closest GATER ever gets to giving Chuck Hayes a hug.

    :)

I like the move, though I don't think it has much impact at all. It's a good move for Luther to get some minutes and catch on somewhere since he's clearly not in our plans, and it gives us a chance to take a virtually cost-free peak at a guy who has all kinds of talent. Given TMac is not likely to play next year, Barry is old, Battier has been nicked up, and Artest/Wafer are free agents at the end of the year, it makes sense to bring in a guy now we can see in practice who could end up being a low cost bench option, similar to Wafer.

Gerald Wallace's transformation is the first thing I thought of when I read about White's supposed improvement since his high school days. Coming out of high school, he wasn't much of a jump shooter from what I recall and relied on highlight reel dunks to put his name on the map. If he's actually developed a consistent jumper, he could have a viable NBA game (assuming his other weakness, his attitude, has also changed for the better).

Courtney Sims was in the d-league and avg 22ppg 12rebs 3blk and shot 59% fg and like 78% ft. He is 6'10 and he signed with phoenix a few weeks back. Didn't that dude make more sense weeks ago ?

We could have signed him now.

He signed 2 10 day contracts with the Suns, and they saw enough in practice. He played 2 minutes in a 20 point blowout logging no points, no rebounds, no blocks, and 1 turnover.

Considering a 36 year old Grant Hill is currently the starting 4 for the Suns, their starting center is about to turn 37, and their backups are Louis Amundson and Robin Lopez, I'm going to go out on a limb and say he showed them absolutely nothing.

    OMFG !

I have been wanted him to be signed by any team -- but now he is a f'ing Rocket !!!

I am so stoked -- we have to keep him until the dunk contest ... please lord.

Lebron vs. James White 2010 dunk contest -- let's make this happen.

I don't know where some of you guys come with junk like this. I suppose you think SA dumping Luis Scola in our laps was just a sign of how bad a player he is. I mean, if SA didn't want him that makes him trash, right? RIGHT?!?

It worked out, the last time we took a player they didn't want. If he turns out as "bad" as the Scola deal, I'll be happy.

Um, look at Luis Scola or Leandro Barbosa. Both of them turned out pretty good to me.

Anyways, I would have much rather the team get a backup point guard or a big man with size who can REBOUND. Defensive rebounds just killed the Rockets yesterday. However, I want to see what this kid can do. He's got size and athleticism. If he can get to hoop like Wafer and dunk over people, this would be a steal.
