We need a backup center that can actually see the floor. Deke is a cheerleader and locker room coach.

"I'd win the NBA Dunk Contest, hands down," said White. "Every year."

He probably would get no playing time.

He's Gerald Green plus one finger.

Seriously, don't you guys see what is happening? Morey is adding another guy that is a mismatch, that forces the action to the rim, and that draws a tremendous amount of fouls and shoots a great number of free throws in his minutes on the floor. Can't you see the vision? Second unit? Lowry, Wafer, and White, running the break, Wafer and White shooting the 3, or getting the dunk, Lowry taking it to the rim and crushing the defense down, all 3 guys getting to the FT line big time. Then you come back with Yao and all of sudden the defensive problems for the opponent have multiplied themselves.

Morey is removing non-aggressive guys that settle for the jumper and AVOID contact (Rafer and Luther), and replacing them with high octane, extremely aggressive players that will throw their body around and get it to the rim and FINISH! And on top of all that, pick up the foul count against the opponent because of their aggression. Oh, and they can shoot a little bit too. (At least not worse than Rafer and Luther.)

If White has any game at all that translates to the NBA, it is going to be uncovered here in Houston, under Adelman. He can defend decently, shoot a little above average, and is a big time finisher. My God man! What else could we want?!?!?

You are probably looking into this move wayy too much.

The Rockets problems are not even the wing positions. Just a month ago when T-mac was playing we were all saying we had too many wing players. I doubt James White is in the rotation.

I just took a look at his stats and WOW. wtf.. hes like the Wade of the D-League. Hes taking 8.5 FTs a game and hes shooting 85% at the line. I know its the D-League and all but damn..

The only downside is that he turns the ball over alot..

It's very simple. Run the wing on the break and dunk da dam ball.

Obviously, he's got some skill since he is dominating D-league. I realize that doesn't make him a star or even a rotation player in the NBA. But where were we going with Luther? Nowhere. Morey just keeps bringing in upgrades. We've got 20 games or so to evaluate whether this guy can be something. That's better than not watching Luther do nothing.

Looking at that, he apparently, can shoot the 3 too. As for his defense, I dont really know.

Will he get any playing time in his 10 day contract? I guess they might evaluate him more in practice than game time.

Hey GATER, you got your greyhound. :p

Who knows if White will stick, but I like the thought of White and Wafer on the wings during fast breaks.

Maybe White will turn into a "Gerald Wallace" type player under Adelman. Adding some athleticism that will attack the basket certainly is a nice change of pace.

Thank God we finally got a guy who can dunk between his legs from the free throw line. If there's one thing the Rockets have been missing, it's slam dunk competition entrants.

I hope the guy does well, but he's a D-League player signed to a 10-day contract. His chances of even playing are slim, let alone becoming some game-changing monster. Lots of guys have crazy athleticism. If that were all it took, half the guys that play the Rucker league would be max contract players.

I think it'd actually make more sense to start Wafer/Artest at the 2 & 3 with White/Battier coming off of the bench. That way you'd have an attacking two in the game at all times instead of 2 slow small forwards starting the game and two hyper athletic guards backing them up....mix it up I say....

The reality though is that the jury is still out on this kid. When I have seen him play, he truly let his emotions be known but maybe Artest can help him get his head on straight. Not sure if his B-ball IQ is all that high. Is best going one on one, not makig hard cuts like this offense requires. Haven't seen him in a few years though.

In my opinion, he won't see much time on the floor. Morey probably just wants to see him on the practice floor to see if he wants to invite him back for training camp
