Agreed. It just stinks his rating is so low that he's not allowed to make layups and what not. I might have to fix that.

Does anybody know which number he'll wear? This has probably been discussed already but I haven't seen it yet.

I mean, look at wafer who was trying to find a team during summer camp. I think its possible for white if he can work hard.

 

His nickname at Cincinati was "In Flight" James White.

 

it does sound clunky. if he wears his # which is 21, then we should just call him Flight 21.

Well we have to take 12 players into the playoffs so...Artest, Barry, Battier, Brooks, Hayes, Landry, Lowry, Scola, Wafer, and Yao makes ten.

That leaves Cook, Dorsey, Tmac, Mutombo, and White all competing for the last two roster spots. Obviously Tmac is out with the surgery....Dorsey is probably out with Mutombo taking the reserve big man spot and that means it's down to Cook vs White for that last spot. I imagine they follow up the 10 day contract with another 10 day contract before deciding which will serve them better in the playoffs. If White comes in and hits some shots and shows a level of intensity on defense(one that Cook certainly won't be showing), I think they sign White to a minimum contract for the rest of the year and keep him on the last roster spot.

...I doubt he sees much significant time, but if Artest or Battier run into foul trouble, he might get a few minutes as a defensive stopper. His offense/dunking is just icing on the cake. He is probably being brought in as a versatile extra defender and late game sub for a 3pt shooter. Can't expect much more out of him unless someone else goes down from injury.


I will say this though - Morey has a pretty good track record with finding value in castaways. Wafer, Landry, Hayes, Scola, and Brooks all were passed up by most teams in the league in some way. None of them are stars obviously(even though Chuck Hayes has a shoe deal in China ) but when I look at other team's benches I think ours is pretty deep with productivity in large part due to the efforts of Morey and to a lesser extent Dawson.

 

James White should definitely get the roster spot. Cook is making 3 mil for doing **** but warming up the bench and cheerleading. Get rid of Cook if we can, to clear CAP space and sign James. Beside, I rather see Flight than Cook on any day.

 

I thought you could take 13 into the playoffs now. Obviously, only 12 on the active roster, but you can sub them in and out between games.

 

That's an understatement. He plays like freaking Lebron James on NBA 2k9 cause he dunks everything and I do mean EVERYTHING! Now people online will be on the Rockets bandwangon even more now that he's on board. Hopefully he stays
