Bold move. I cannot find fault with it except for the extreme injury situation with Gordon that was similar to Tmac. I am a little weary of that history but the payoff is too big if we are gonna go all in on Howard. I am all in too.

Very good point. All of their options would be classified into A B C D ETC. Just keep juggling calls until you get an option that sticks.

They won't be 60 unless you are paying Dragic max money. Gordon's max number is about $12-13MM, Howard is a little over $19MM, and Smith is a little over $13MM. That's about $45MM for those three. Dragic could probably be had for about $8MM so you'd pay about $53MM for all four. If you can move Scola and Martin in the various trades without really taking too much or anything back its possible. Also, the cap was $58MM last year and likely won't go down.

Gordon is nice, but it looks like you guys have already forgotten the injury prone days of TMAC and YAO. Gordon has already missed a lot of games in his short career through injury. Last injury was a more serious knee injury right? not a good sign. Have we not learned through the injuries of TMAC and YAO not to touch these sort of players.

Gordon is only good for tanking, cause he'll spend the season mostly injured.

You know its funny to think that the worst case scenario for Thursday is the Rockets end up JUST moving up in the draft to take someone like Drummond, and move a disgruntled Kyle Lowry.

To think that everyone was screaming to tank all year long, and how Morey didn't know what he was doing, yada yada when you get to this day and worst case scenario is they end up in the same position as one of the tanking teams, but still with their dignity.

anybody else think if we do get DH12, that we should sign Nash and have the Nash/Dragic combo to go along side with Dwight and maybe Gordon/or jsmoove

but I don't know how the cap or any of that stuff would work..just an idea of getting nash would be nice as a back up

If Gordon didn't have any injuries then I'm all in but with him missing half the season last year I changed my mind and say no

Seems like a "Smoke and mirrors" tactic.

Quick question, is it even possible to trade for his rights? If so, the most I'd give is Scola, rights to Llull, and 18. It would give us still enough flexibility to go after Dwight.

Yeah, those numbers were off the top of my head. I didnt check the salaries officially beforehand. Thanks for looking for me. For me, Id rather project high with the offers that will have to go out to Gordon & Dragic and still see some room to make some alternate moves as well for role players.

I have no doubt that Morey can put quality role players on this roster with very minimal cost to the salary cap as well. I dont see him building role players in the same fashion as the Heat with a bunch of burnt out vets.

He's a restricted free agent. The only way they can retain him is if they match an offer for him from another team like us. They can't trade restricted FA's until they've matched the offer and signed them.

Naw, he's going to command a hefty salary from either Phoenix or Toronto already, and he's openly said that he will not play for less. Also, the guy is a guy defensive liability at this point in his career. Pass unless he's dieing to come play 2nd fiddle to Dragic at PG which isn't going to happen.
