I know of at least one old washed up center who knew the system that we loved having as a backup to Yao... don't knock it until we see it.
true, but that center was a stellar defensive player - which is exactly what we need at the 5 spot right now
The way Brad Miller plays-- with smarts more than athleticism-- suggests he could be effective for several more years. Defenders have to respect his shooting ability, so the lanes will be open for Aaron, Kyle, Kevin, Chase, and JT to slash and score and-ones. Our team defense is going to be a question mark, though.
DA is actually the better shooter, at least from 3. But Miller can do everything Andersen can do offensively plus he is a great passer and a good rebounder.
If Miller signs with the Heat, I'm boycotting basketball for a year. Not because he's the piece that guarantees a championship, but what they're doing in Miami is a disgrace to the game of NBA basketball. I don't care if they win 5 straight championships, there will be a star beside each one in my book.
Yes, Miller: - Stronger, more experienced defender. - Better rebounder - Better passer - Better driving to the basket/forcing the foul. Andersen: - Better at the back to the basket 1on1. - Better 3PT%s
At this point I just want him so he doesn't end up in Miami. Big Z / Miller Bosh / Haslem / Howard LeBrom / 2nd round picks Wade / Miller Chalmers / that vipers PG
The interesting aspect to the Heat roster is the 5 spot. I don't think that Z is able to play starter's minutes. That means that the 5 spot will be by a committee of Z, Bosh & Howard. Bosh will love this.
His shooting percentage its in the low 40s. Which isn't exactly great for a center. I prefer a more defensive minded center but I trust Morey so.......
Hey, he almost helped the Bulls beat the Celtics just a year ago if he hadn't gotten clocked by Rondo. From the little I saw in this year's playoffs, he can still bang in the paint on D. I feel pretty good if he's mostly going up against backups.

Thanks for the update, worzel. I keep checking this & other sites to see if Miller has made his decision yet. Wasn't there some info stating that he would make his decision by the end of the week? The good news is that the 'fanhouse' info did not include Miami in the list of teams being considered. I hope that Brad signs with us & I kinda think that he will, since he's always hanging out in our locker room before he plays against us. Just waiting ...
