Interesting... they mentioned Donte Green from Syracuse and Marreese Speights of Florida... i didn't think Rockets would have interest in them because both are not NBA ready

    i like it.

RJ has played 78+ games in 5/7 years in the league. including all 82 this past season.

That's what I got out of the article -- every player named is a player Houston is not targeting. Thank you, again, Jonathan Feigin. The article also says Houston is not trading up and believes they can find a role player between 16 and 40.

Then again he also tells Feigen
So in the end what he lets on is they could pick a NBA ready player but they could also go for a project. Pre-draft GM talk that gives away nothing all the way.

If DM decides to go for need at the backup C and Hibbert isn't there,I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for Robin Lopez.

If they're both available, Lopez is the much stronger pick. I can't believe Hibbert keeps getting all this run. Oh whoops, I used the words "Hibbert" and "run" in the same sentence!

I like Hibbert as well. I think he can contribute right now for 18-20 mins a night. I think he's suffering from the michael finley syndrome. Finley as a junior was a top 10 pick if he came out. He returned and struggled and fell to the end of the draft. If u look at finley in the class of 95, he's the 2nd best player behind Garnett. I think Hibbert has the same thing working for or against him. He has the potential to be Yao's backup now or his replacement if he keeps getting injured. Its really hard to find a guy with his size, 7'2 275, along with his reach, bbiq, who is a natural pivot at 25. At 21 yrs old, he can get better. I would rather get him and fill the 2/3 spot via fa.

Feigen writes in his latest blog:

Does that make Alexander a sexy draft pick for Rockets fans in China? :D

RJ is a much better all round player than Battier and can defend too,if not as well as him.

All I know is the Jazz pick right before us and they're going to pick somebody that slipped and at the same time somebody we really wanted.

Battier is overated. People in this board overate players like Battier, and Hayes. Players that put a lot a hustle but are not close to average talent players.

if we could get jefferson i say do it.

jefferson is a legit scorer in this league. imagine rj at sg and t-mac at sf, scola at pf and yao at c. that's a potent offensive team and not a bad defensive team either.
