    It's simple.

If there is a player or two lacks intensity, the problem is normally on player(s).

But if there is lack of intensity of the whole team, the coach should take responsbility.

And only intensity cant simply win games especially against some good teams. You need talent and excellent game strategy.

And all the players on this team are chosen by you, JVG.

T-Mac isn't lazy on defense, he just looks like it. It wasn't his man that lit us up, it was Rafer Alston's. It wasn't Yao's man that tore us to shreds, it was Juwan Howard's.

Just because you don't see the handshake doesn't mean T-Mac doesn't lead. Rafer Alston should have given him the ball in the clutch, he would have led this team to overtime, eventually a win.
I'm not going to b**** out Wesley for taking that 3, or maybe I am. If you're shooting 1 for 7 on the night from 3 pt. land, why would you take a 3 with that little time on the clock? David Wesley isn't like T-Mac, he can't have a bad game all night and end up hitting a huge shot in the clutch. (At least I don't think)

I personally think JVG is right in calling out his team, but I don't think it's his whole team he's calling out.
I think he's calling out Wesley and Alston especially. I would be calling out Howard and Head too. I don't understand why he would call out Yao or T-Mac since they both had a good game against the Sixers. It's not their fault that Rafer F*cking Alston didn't give either of them the ball until too late, or that Wesley had to try to be the hero.
I wouldn't be so mad at Wesley for taking that shot if he was better than 1/7 from 3 pt. land that night...

Alston seems pretty consistent to me, He still had like 15 points 8 assist and 5 boards against philly. Missed alot of shots but it wasnt like Tmac 2 for 20. Atleast hes trying to play hard out there, atleast he has his full focus and attention on the game at hand.

Problem with Alston in that game (other than bricking about a bajillion 3 pointers) was his awful defense on AI. He did a much better job the last time and almost shut Iverson down completely -- Iverson earned almost all his points at the foul line. This time Iverson was raining down jumpers at will, and that just sucked. But he still ran the offense pretty well, and that's pretty consistent with what we've been seeing from him.

Iverson was on fire. There was no one, I repeat no one, in this league that could have shut him down. He's just too quick and his shot was on. When his shot is on, it's over. The only thing you can do with him is to expose him defensively and get it back on the other end. That is what we should have done. We should have run plays designed to make Philly switch and rub Allen off on TMac down low and get the points right back. Not run Ryan "The Brick" Bowen out there in a futile attempt to shut down Iverson.

Could you imagine Robert Parrish playing for Van Gundy?

"Ewing, Thibodeau, get a dolly and wheel this guy out of here! I can't find a pulse. He must be dead!" :D

Juwan is praised by JVG as being inspirational because he echoes JVG's "no intensity, no defense" comment.

Talking about inspiration, neither JVG's negative reinforcement or game plan is inspirational. I'd also say finger pointing is the least inspirational thing to do after a loss, while a player can be spurred once or twice with such method, he'd just turn his back and murmur "whatever" in the long run.
