Wow...that Bogut's Kid stat really look impressive. Could be a Troy Murphy or better for us. It also looks like he has that hard nosed Aussies hardwork mentality. Me likes....
Orlando GM, John Wiesbrod, hinted a little over a month ago that this year's summer league is more than likely going to be wiped out due to the impending lockout. He made it seem like only a miracle will save the summer league and from what I read recently, Billy Hunter has already started telling the players to start saving money. You know what that means. Sad as it may sound, we may not have the poortunity to see, Badiane, Spanoulis and our likely 2005 draft picks in any sumeer league this year - at least the traditional ones. Hooroo That Bogut kid is listed as a top 10 prospect in this upcoming draft. That means we will not get him because we will not be drafting that high. We are projected to draft on Fran Vazquez 6-10 230 pounds PF from Spain @ #14 position. I got this from draftnet.com. The good news for us is that this upcoming draft is littered with PFs and SFs. I do not know how we will solve our PG issues in the offseason although.
Hey mogrod - I'm all the way in for Bogut. That guy is the real deal! There is absolutely no doubt at all that he is exactly what we need and a CERTAIN starter in the NBA. I can't say that he'd be an all-star, but he's a strong rebounder and low-post scorer. Plus he has a nice outside shot all the way to three point land. There are quicker players, but Bogut is physically strong and takes no backward steps.
It would be great if he made the roster next year and gave us 10-15 mins a night. Could turn into a good backup and maybe even a starter somewhere down the line.
Bogut won't be around for us. We need to look at Turiaf. He knows how to play. Simien too small, will be a limited pro player. Turiaf will surprise people.
