I was wondering the same thing. Maybe there was a typo? Maybe he strained the calf more recently? Something doesn't add up.
It was obvious that the Rockets were not going to pick up the option on Boki. With that 2.2 million dollars they could easily get a veteran who can fill the role much better than Nachbar. Let's hope that Boki will be the last one in the long line of wasted Rockets first-round picks.
That is exactly right. However the one difference is that we have Boki's bird rights where as Cleveland did not have Boozer's bird rights. Boki was given a fair chance in the pre-season to step up and he did not do it. Maybe he will step up in the regular-season. If not he will likely find himself in another uniform next year.
From New Jersey Record: CLEVELAND - Camden native Dajuan Wagner will become a free agent after this season because the Cavaliers declined their $3.4 million contract option. Wagner's brief NBA career has been slowed by injuries. TIMBERWOLVES 102, PISTONS 95 (at Minneapolis) - Kevin Garnett had 22 points and nine rebounds to lead the Minnesota over the Detroit in the final preseason game for both teams. Fred Hoiberg and Eddie Griffin added 15 points each for Minnesota. Richard Hamilton had 21 points for Detroit. Andrei Kirilenko signed a 6-year, $86 million contract extension with the Jazz. ... Pacers' point guard Jamaal Tinsley signed a six-year extension. ... The Nuggets exercised their contract option on Nene but declined on forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili. ... The Suns waived guard Howard Eisley after buying out his contract.
That uniform will more than likely be that of a European team. I've seen no indication that Boki has any business playing in the NBA. If only he could shoot worth a damn.
There are several GM's in the NBA that are going to be competing for Nachbar's services the second that they are allowed to start talking with Boki & his agent.
EG He didn't look too bad in that Twolves/Piston game. Anyways, Boki just doesn't seem like he has improved in the couple of years he's been here. It only makes sense to not pick up his option...some guys only have so much potential, Boki sure tries, but he just can't do it. I'm sure some team will pick him up and give him another chance, maybe that's what he needs...just look at EG .
That Boki sure is mentally weak. The more I see him the more I think that he is decent physically, could be an average backup, but he has such a fragile ego/self-esteem that he might never make it in the NBA.
Yup. Him blaiming his poor showing in the preseason on his contract extension is just pathetic. So I guess if he gets any significant time late in the year he's going to blow chunks since all he'll be thinking about is how he's going to be a free agent.
i love boki and i think he is going to be killer...but can someone tell me why all these people are going to be tryiing snag boki again? honestly he hasnt done too much for us... CD please keep boki
Not getting the extension is probably the best thing for him mentally. He can just play now and let the chips fall where they may. He can have some fun finally. Would not surprise me that he has some sort of a breakout year and the rockets package him and one of the powerforwards in a trade before the deadline. The only thing I see hurting Nachbar will be Sura coming back from his injury successfully. Sura, T-Mac and JJ rotating between the 2 and the 3 will limit Boki's playing time.
as much as we all rooted for him, and hoped he would become a starter one day, its not gonna happen. we love the guy, but we have better players at his position already. bowen and padgett will see time before boki this year. both might be resigned next year too. that means boki is surely gone. my prediction is that mo or spoon will be traded with boki before the deadline. boston, cleveland, indiana, lakers, new jersey, and seattle are the only teams i believe might be willing to take on either PF.
