Steve Novak was only good for one thing, and that was a shot that kept the Streak alive. Other than that..... I say:

    Who?

    not a very good move.

not that i think novak is untouchable, but why can't we get more in return? not even a 2nd round pick? only rights to swap? wow. obviously a salary dump on les' part to avoid lux tax.

i wish novak the best. a pure shooter as he is should have some success in this league.

Unless there is another move in the works, our roster is set:

    PG: Alston, Brooks, Francis
    SG: McGrady, Barry, Head
    SF: Artest, Battier, Harris
    PF: Scola, Landry (resigned), Hayes
C: Yao, Mutombo (resigned), Dorsey (signed)

This is a solid team, but for some reason....I feel Morey is not done.

    Any thoughts?

Good for Novak, he gets to play with a pass first PG...who can set the table for him...maybe he can thrive there.

Had to be in the works. Good,Morey is still working. Head doesn't have to go yet - hold him until the trade deadline. Here is our 15:

    Rafer/SF3/Brooks
    Tmac/Barry/Head
    Artest/Battier/Harris
    Scola/Landry*/Hayes
    Yao/Deke*/Dorsey

    * - need to be signed

Whether we are over the luxury tax or not shouldn't affect Les's wallet much once they roll into the playoffs. Especially when they take the championship!! Can you imagine how much $$ the Rox will take in when Yao's takes a ring back to China with him.

I had always hoped he would become a Kapono/korver type.. but he just doesn't have the Defensive athleticism. Good Luck in LA

I am kind of surprised at the amount of people that are sad that we made this trade or that are sad that we didnt get more from him. Novak is the biggest liability 95% of the time he is on the floor. The only times he is good is when he gets a shot off at the 3-point line. Its true he can make an occasional 3, but how bout the countless number of times his man drives past him to the basket causing the whole defense to come over to help (oh and btw, the man he defends doesnt even hafta be quick to get by him)? How many times do you see his defender getting the rebound over him?

Novak does not belong, stop wishing! He will never be an effective specialist cuz he will not get the playing time.

I would have rather just waived Harris.

Depending upon what we sign Landry/Dorsey for I would love to see if we could squeeze Mickael Gelabale into the mix. 6'7", 25-years-old, can play both wing spots and improved both his long range accuracy and defense this year.

For whatever reason he remains an unsigned unrestricted FA. Wouldn't mind adding him for 2/3 depth considering Barry's age and Luther Head's inability to do much of anything right.

what is his +/- number last year?

it's not like guys such as kerr or bullard or korver are real good defenders.
