Good Luck Novack! Seamed like a nice guy. and Thanks for the game winner!

I'd have Steve on the end of my bench 'almost' any day.

BTW, for the ones who give Head so much crap.

    Head is > Novack

and this was a good move by Morey, Steve would have never made the rotation. so instead of just releasing him, he gets equal value for him of what he paid. getting another chance in the second round.

Novak has vivid characteristics, good shoots and bad defence.
It's a pity we loss him.
Maybe Morey will have another deal or something which have to decrease the lineup.
Kings must has a higher second-round draft.

Everything will bring a unknow result.
If we hold Gay, maybe he will not become a star.
There is so many 'IF', but just one 'Realism'.

No one here has earned the right to question any move Morey makes.

Actually, it is the Nuggets who have the option to swap picks with the Clippers, not the other way around. Remember, that option is the only "asset" that the Nuggets got in exchange for Camby.

On another note, I want to give Daryl Morey credit for doing something that many people will overlook: picking up the team option on Novak despite not necessarily having a roster spot available for him. Morey realized that Novak--a shooting specialist--had value to other teams. Rather than not exercising the team option and allowing Novak to sign elsewhere in exchange for nothing, Morey was able to get something--ANYTHING--in return for him. Plus, if any trade exception is generated by this deal, that is yet another asset picked up by Morey making an otherwise seemingly insignificant maneuver.

If Morey simply doesn't pick up the team option on Novak, the Rockets get:
    --Nothing

By picking up the team option on Novak, the Rockets get:
--The option of swapping second round picks with the Clippers in a future draft
--Possibly an approximately ~$800k trade exception.

Hooroo, I think the Rockets CAN generate a trade exception, since they are over the salary cap. The trade exception relates to the team over the cap, not the team under the cap. If the Clippers were under the cap and traded Novak to the Rockets, then no trade exception would be generated.

The way I see it Novak was going to be lost to the numbers game. Morey did a solid to me by trading him to the Clippers (my second favorite team, but a distant second) so Novak and I get to be better friends and hang out. Morey could have traded him a lot of places if all he was looking for was a switch of future 2nds, but he was looking out for me.

    Thanks Daryl!

I'll get a clippers novak jersey to sport to the games I go to this year, but I'll wear my Non-signed (yes I bought another later to wear) novak rockets jersey to the first clippers game i go to this year to show that he is still loved.

As for the other guy who asked what other jerseys I have:
Landry, Deke, Battier, Dorsey, Scola, Francis, Tmac

I havent heard from any agents either lately.

Yes, he is an outstanding passer...he gets great looks for his teamates......just look at how well Stephen Jackson played with him.....BDiddy drives and dishes......

He is a fantastic PG, can score the ball and pass.

Nice jab at Rafer but are you insinuating that the PG was one of Novak's biggest problems?

Why does everything have to be a jab at Rafer? Why can't it be about who Novak is going to be playing with instead?

The point I was trying to make is he gets to play with a guy who will look to set him up for his shots.

He had that here in Tmac, but Novak was so far down the depth chart he would not get on the floor so much.

With the Clippers he might be able to crack the rotation and playing with Baron Davis is good for his game....

Baron is great at driving, compacting the defense and passing out to the 3pt line......Novak will thrive with that type of game.

Novak did the best impression of Deke in the locker room. Who's gonna fill in for that.

He does the one thing hardly anyone else on this team can do, shoot. The problem is he isn't even on a D-league level with any other aspect of his game. If he does anything in LA, people will say 'i told you so'. If he doesn't, he'll fade away and be forgotten (most likely event).

Would you say the same thing about Matt Bullard? Because that is essentially what Steve Novak is.....a situational role player.

The only difference is that Rudy found a role for Matt, and that never quite happened for Steve.

They are essentially carbon copies of each other......and Steve has a better shot.

...probably cause Bullard could play the 4 without giving up more than he contributed.

    ROFLMAO....really? R U Serious?

Bullard couldn't guard my dead grandmother, and she could score on him on the post up.....

The only reason Bullard gets more credit, is he got a chance, and played with the number 1 shot blocker of all time guarding his backside....Dream.

Also, if I am not mistaken, Bullard bounced around a bit until he found his spot on the Rockets as the 9th or 10th man.....

Novak is about as good as Bullard....he just needs the right fit.

Neither of them are starters, or even high rotational players, both are situational shooters.
