From a offensive production stand point, scolandry will be 23 ppg and 14 rebs. My only issue is that what the opponets will get because neither are good defenders. On a side note, Barry will avg about 5ppg.

Before everyone starts to set high expectations for the "Scolandry" stat line, you must consider the impact of having Ron Artest on the team. He adds another significant scorer to the lineup who will undoubtedly take shot attempts away from guys like Scola and Landry. Scola and Landry could each play significantly better this season than last WITHOUT scoring much more as far as ppg. The Rockets have the potential to be so deep that no player (outside of Yao and T-Mac) will score a great deal from game to game.

I'm not too caught up with stats. I just look forward to our guys playing well together.

Then how about the minutes Chuck Hayes will get? Maybe chuck is a little bit disgusting in his free throws and his urgly face, but his talent for defense should not be underestimated. Hayes is the only guy on our team that can lock artest a little bit, and he is absolutely a terminator to the soft PFs like Dirk. Hayes will be gonna get more minutes when we face teams like mavs and lakers on which there both exist a soft PF, dirk and Pau. no other rocket will do a better job than hayes in defending Pau and dirk. further, hayes is able to defend some strong PFs better than scolandry. Scola is a talented defender but defense is his shortcoming, and nor is landry good at defense. we don't need to care the defense when yao is on court, but the inside defense is really a problem when yao is down and deke is absent.despit yao and deke, hayes is the only one that can prevent our three-second zone being the paradise for the slam duckers like A Stoudmire and d Howard.

Chuck will get basically very very few minutes....maybe 10 here and there, as he should.

He is where he should be...relegated to a defensive specialist....an In case of emergency break glass and grab your chuck.

And Scola and Landry will get more shots this year, because teams will leave them WIDE OPEN...

that 1rst preseason game can't come soon enough, I'm just as excited about the preseason as the 1rst regular game. Cause I want to see how the players will mesh well, which backups will shine and which will struggle, Adelman's thought process this early in the season...c'mon Tuesday!

I'd guess the knees were a true concern. After matching, Morey in his recent interviews: "Carl... we checked out the medical issues over the w/e... potentially more prone to injury"

I have been one of the refs for the scrimmages and Landry has looked very good. Everyone there have looked really great. The only thing that surprised me is the fact that Brent Barry isn't really that cool of a guy at all, but all we need him to do is play good basketball.

drich all this time you've been holding out on us. But its good hear that Landry has picked up where he left off when he dunked on Tim Duncan.

hey did take dorsey baseline and dunked the ball and it was with ease.. A foul was called on Yao while he was guarding Dorsey and he said "rookies don't get calls around here".. It has all been pretty good down there other than that.

The thing about Scolandry is they will occasionaly get abused by 4s defensively, but they tend to give as good as they get. And that's huge. There were times last year where either of them looked like the only player on the floor - and damn I'm still in disbelief about that.

Our 4s could become a liability in the playoffs given certain matchups, but I'm not sure it will happen. Those guys work their defenders.

I know what you are saying but that may not be a bad thing either. Barry had a little interview with Berman the other night and he was king of tearing into Tmac, Yao, or Adelman, however you want to look at it, for sitting out scrimmages that day. He sounded a lot like JVG.

What he was saying was when the Spurs won the title they won because how hard they practiced from the beginning of training camp and that your best players got to set the tone. Props to Barry then for being an ******* cause this team needs that.

I am not suprised to hear that. Remember who his dad is? Growing up with Rick Barry as your father has to affect one's personality, no?

Even when Brent is saying something light-hearted on TV, I always sense the guy had an ornery (or, as Jeff Van Gundy would say, a "knife fighter") side to him. The guys on the Spurs seemed to like him enough, so for NBA purpose he's OK.

No, until Mutombo, or another big to backup Yao signs.....Landy should get plenty of minutes splitting time at PF/C positions.

Defense = experience. They should be way better at that end this year.
