Bottom Line Money is the issue. and that we dont have enough considering its just the MLE.. We would have to do a S&T. Get it done CD we need this guy.
uumm.. you do know that out of the many people on this board, yaomania has a better reason for thinking this than any of us. yaomania, any idea of when? later this afternoon?...reason why I ask is so I can make sure my recorders are set to catch any news programs in case something happens.
...I wasn't saying that he sucks or that I don't like his game - I do - hey, Tmac rode the pine for years in Toranto I just want people to remember that he has never actually proven himself to earn a bank breaking contract... this is all on potiental and athletism
Given what is clearly going to be the dominant news story for at least the next week (damn vermin terrorists!), even if some kind of announcement were in the works, I would not be surprised to see any of that take a back seat for about 10 days. It would just seem rather gauche to have a high-fivin hand-slappin whoopee big-money celebration at a time like this.
I think anytime you can add a 2nd overall pick with potential you do it. That's a highly probable upgrade at the position. I think it means no matter what you get mediocre. Which is all we need, but you could get everything else too.
I missed it. yaomania has clutchfan cred here. can someone brief me on why or what happened to get the cred?
yaomania works at the Rockets office...he/she is always the first to tell us about things happening/events/news releases/etc before they are made public.
Thanks, yaomania! I have a bad feeling that it's about Juwan, perhaps related to the things the caller on 610 was talking about. As for Swift, I like what CriscoKidd said about waiting him out. I don't mind offering him a little over the MLE in a S&T deal (assuming one could be worked out), but even if we could, I wouldn't want to try topping his best offer. I think Memphis would be amenable to a S&T if we were willing to take on Cardinal. Maybe even Jason Williams instead, but for something of more value than expiring contracts.
Holy crap - did he really say this? He didn't use the old "It's not about the money" line? He actually told the truth - that money has a lot to do with it?!?!? I can't believe it! I now like Stromile Swift!
I would think so considering that other teams that have lost players to career-ending injuries have received one....but Im not that familiar with the CBA language on it. Hopefully one of our CBA guys can chime in on this. and that brings about a aspect that I didnt consider at the time...I initially dismissed the RUMOR about Howard since by all accounts he was medically cleared to resume workouts, but I hope that isnt the case. how bout a further hint yaomania? do you think it will be good news or bad news?
