The Cleveland Cavs already have the colors I wanted for the Rockets starting next year: wine and gold.

    Did I say "complete?"

Even the jerseys are silly looking.

By the way, 12 "grown men" on a certain Rocket team get laughed at on a regular basis wearing these same unis.

    Yuk, yuk...
    :(

    Heh.

    In no particular order ...

The dancers' uniforms aren't included in Eiko's contract, but you can bet that we'll re-design everything (including costumes for the dancers, Turbo, Clutch, etc.) to key off the team uniform design.

We probably won't have a vote. For one thing, the lead times wouldn't allow it to work -- we couldn't reveal any designs for a vote until late June, and that wouldn't allow us enough time to produce jerseys for the season following the vote. More importantly, though -- we're going to put our effort into designing one great uniform, instead of spreading it around to a bunch of different designs that we might have to live with.

We asked for feedback last spring/summer because we wanted it. And we've used it. Eiko has heard everything that was sent to us by the fans. We did not, however, show her that pink with green polka dot version that one of you mocked up.

    Timbo,

how dare you hold out on us, first you don't show us any of the short-listed designs and now you tell us you hid the best design (pink with green polka dot) from Eiko.

    Lift your game Timmy!!!! ;)

    Bring back the red.

I was always inspired to sing along the National Anthem specially when it got to the Rocket red glare part.

When they switched uniforms, blue just didn't have that glare on it.

Tim, your reaction to the designer's comments were right in line with ours, but what really scares me is:

    1. Why the heck did you guys hire a designer in the first place when that was what screwed up the nightmares we have now?

    2. Why the heck did you hire one that would have the tastes that would lead to her comments about "trendsetting" and "futuristic" ? Those are very scary comments. Didn't you guys check out what her outlook was first?

    3. Why the heck would you hire one who admits to knowing nothing about basketball and thinks bball unis are plain?

This is sports apparel lady!!! It's not going to be modeled on a Paris runway and worn to some stuffy debutante ball. Tim,please don't let this lady screw up our uniforms with her "futuristic" ideas. Why coudn't you just hire a down to earth Texan to help you design something?

Why do words like "futuristic" scare me?

    This is why...

Tim, have u seen the ones that me and Rocketeer made about a year ago? I thought these were nice but I don't know if I sent them in. Does anyone here remember those? I think these are some of what we drew up.

    ---------------

Rocketeer made the original blue/red colorway for the first designs, and I tweaked it with a different "Rockets" font and different colorways. I made the last one, real simple, and not "futuristic." Were these ideas looked at? And, were any of these considered?

Replace the yellow with blue or silver in the 2nd design, and you're good to go...

I have never been more happy after reading that Chronicle article...

Grown men shouldn't be wearing other men's jerseys period. You can buy them, but I have never understood a 35 year old going to a game wearing 26 year old Steve Francis's jersey. That is for kids IMHO.

What the hell are you talking about?

And what cut-off age should Francis stop wearing the jersey? At 29? 30? 35? 40?

Uh, you better tell that to him (and a few others) before it's too late...(Stockton, Malone, Kevin Willis, Jordan, David Robinson, Reggie Miller, Mark Jackson, Glen Rice...)...

Basically you are changing the subject..."Act your age...,etc...blah, blah, blah..."

My ORIGINAL point was that the ROCKETS jersey's looked silly no matter what age you are.

There is a little too much disrespect for our current unis, imo. The rocket with teeth is bad, but the basic colors and overall look is much better than the garish red and yellow that they used to have. I think some of the fans from the championship years have confused their love of the championship teams with their unis.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new uniforms.
