As usual on matters pertaining to religion and government, you're wrong.

This time, you're really, really wrong.

Obama meets with an atheist group, right after an atheist church arsonist caught in East Texas. Yet another example of him coddling terrorists.

I'm willing to bet they will find a link between reading the comments on the chron site and brain cancer.

    Their ignorance isn't militant though.

They don't want to burn down buildings, they just want to graduate, marry a younger version of their mother, squeeze out 2.5 kids, 2400 square feet cookie cutter in a nice area where the minorities are few, a Kia Sorento that eventually becomes a Red Corvette and finally a Buick LaSabre, etc, etc.

Their revolution is not one enforced with gun powder but rather a calm predictability.

I can't tell if you're serious or not. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and guess that you're not being serious. Confirm?

I don't see why it matters. I am surprised this is the first time an atheist group has been allowed to meet with White House officials or a sitting president. Seems silly to me.

I'm seriously trying to poke fun at the thin-skinned atheists on the site.

Don't believe in God? Great. Don't.
    Do? Fine, do so.

Smitten with quoting increasing percentages like they need to recruit better. It's like the religious nuts are the parents that the atheists are doomed to end up being just like, kicking and screaming all the way.

I don't know why anyone would need or care if either 'group,' or the President for that matter, would verify or denounce their own spirituality or lack thereof. I would appreciate it if both groups would just try not to "get any on me."

    meh. whatever.

Probably the most annoying thing to me about this whole article. How this would actually be an issue in the first place just seems so wrong, given the foundation on which our country is built upon.

Personally not religious here but I have gone to Church several times and feel its great if someone finds so much joy and happiness in their religion.
Agree that religion should not dictarte policies in Govt though.
So good for Obama. Now I just wish he has a more open mind about his other policies too.

Everyone wants this, politics or not; even some of us muh-norities (especially since we're statistically fewer in most non-major, non-Southern cities anyways).

I'm an atheist, but I understand how easy it would be to attack this.

I a very religious person..I voted for McCain.

but I see no problem with this meeting at all. Anybody who is upset with this needs to get a life.

However, to say that they've never had a voice is utterly ridiculous.

Uh, no organized body representing atheists has ever had direct communication or been counsel to the president, ever.

And I'd almost go so far as to say that might be true in congress, too.
