i was wondering the same thing....8 pts in 12 mins on 4 shots is pretty good...i think jvg's dictatorial nature took over
If i'm JVG or any future Rockets coach i would like to see Stro playing 30 min. per game and have Juwan coming from the bench. STRAIGHT UP!!
I said that in a wrong manner. If a deal presents itself where we get a better player in exchage for Stro, then he's gone. I don't think that's gonna happen, but I could be wrong.
If I'm JVG or any future Rockets coach (or GM) I'm definitely not going to have either Stro or JH as the starter next year. One guy is a bust; the other is over the hill and running on fumes. If they stand pat at PF this summer the Rockets had better get an All-Star level SG and a great backup PG to make up for the vast chasm at the 4. I'm exaggerating slightly, of course.
The Knicks have made some mistakes but they like Crawford. They like Frye as well and could possibly use Stro but I don't think we can make a Stro/Crawford deal with them.
knicks were really trying to deal crawford before the trade deadline....even though he's playing real well lately and has hit 3 game-winning shots in two weeks, the knicks would definitely deal crawford and the rockets could get him, because he's gotta long term deal....i think he would be a great fit at the 2
The problem with crawford is that he isn't a catch and shoot kind of player. Just like Stevie Franchise he has to take a couple dribbles prior to shooting the ball. Also, for a player of his quickness and length, he isn't a very good defender. He would be an interesting talent to have, though.
i've had the privilege or misfortune of watching the knicks play a lot since i now live in ny and yes i agree that crawford's d isnt that great, but i think the advantages he brings outweigh the disadvantages. i've seen him spot up and shoot a lot so he can be a catch and shoot kind of player, but recently the knicks havent required him to do that as you said he does have size, quickness, and he's young...he's also a good 3 pt shooter and can drive and penetrate and can even bring the ball up the court and he can take and make big shots, thus, he's a proven talent he would be the 3rd legitimate scorer we're looking for...he would definitely be more of an asset when tmac's out the game most importantly, he's a realistic player we could bring in. we won't even have to give up stro....remember the knicks took mo taylor off our hands and gave jerome james a big contract after a couple of slam dunks he had against the spurs in the 2nd rd of the playoffs last year when he was the sonics, i bet we could get them to take juwan and our lottery pick for jamal crawford or maybe even just juwan for crawford, it went through on real gm, knicks want cap relief and crawford has a long term deal...it just might work i think we should keep stro
I don't see Crawford or Q going anywhere either. Most likely guys gone or available are Marbury, Francis and Robinson of their guards. Marbury and Francis make too much money but the Knicks would unload Robinson and James for Stro and Wesley I bet.
that's the best post I've ever read on clutch fans (i've been reading the forum for almost 3 years)... man, just go tell JVG please.. JHO is our biggest problem, I know he can hit the midrange J, but he slows down everything and every time he wants to pass the ball, he fakes 3 or 4 times.. that kills me, he fakes every single time even if he has nobody on him.. have y'all noticed that .. JHO is useless and I would take Tractor Traylor anytime instead of him.. I think Swift COULD BE a great player and he could reach KG's level if he got playing time and good coaching .. I mean, Swift's body and athelticism is very similar to KG (except he is shorter than KG by 3 to 4 in')... I like Swift's post up moves (when he does them), I like the fact that he can use his left hand, I like his midrange J. and most importantly, I LOVE HIS MONSTER DUNKS .. the only thing that is wrong with STro is his IQ.. but I believe that can work on that.. another bad thing is the effort, but did y'all see what he did when he got a couple of starts (suspension of JHO).. I think he is not putting enough effort because he wants to start.. so lets trade JHO and get rid of his fat contract (and if it's and expiring contract, dont sign him again). Start Swift and keep Chuck Hayes for backup.. and we will be in good shape next season..
This article basically said a whole lotta nothing... After, what, 6 years we're supposed to believe that Swift still has some ungodly potential that will eventually make him a 15/8 player? It's possible the most he'll ever be is maybe a 12/6 guy...which means he's a fourth or fifth option, not third... He just doesnt have that desire or passion and relies on athleticism for him to get by...it's nothing that can be taught...you either have it or you don't... I really do wish Feigen would start being more creative with his stories...I could've sworn this same story idea was ran prior to the season...no need to recycle material...
He's a 9/5 guy in 20 minutes. Who knows what he'd be like with JHo like minutes. When I saw Stro start, he had that fire in his eyes like he wanted to prove something. And for those 5 games, he put up great numbers.
Kwame Brown gives me some hope that someday, Swift will find his niche here with this team even if he never averages any more than 9 and 5. Swift and Brown are similar to each other in every single way, yet all I read lately from Lakers fans is how Kwame Brown has been such a key ingredient to the Lakers success. Brown’s numbers (7 pts/6 rbs/.6 blks) are no better than Swift. The only real difference I see is Phil Jackson has enough confidence in Brown to hand him a starting job, despite him playing poorly for much of the season, and it has paid off. Kwame has responded ever since being inserted into the starting lineup.
Atleast Kwame is one of the better post defenders in the league...plus he has 2 more inches on Swift, so he could be a strong, solid 5 or 4 backup...Swift can play either but can be exploited at either position...atleast Kwame has bulk and leverage... Right now, I would definitely take Kwame ahead of Stro...
yes, i'm quoting myself this is why i dont understand why people are so hard on stro....he just doesnt get an opportunity to play granted j-ho played well, but look at stro's line tonight against the kings: 8 pts in 13 mins on 50% shooting what else do people want from him?
