Clearly you have personal issues with people from NY....which indicates a chip on your shoulder. We don't like players who are making millions who whine about their problems to us here. I guess you like to defend them, but that's your thing. I wish Charles Barkeley could read this thread.
Shoot I dont think Texans have anything against New Yorkers....The only difference I see is New Yorkers talk faster than they think..and..Texans think faster than they talk...
NewYorker, He didn't whine. Whining would have occurred before negotiations stopped. Those quotes were after the deadline to negotiate. The basis of your entire position is your assumption that Kenny went to Feigen with a gripe...it is a poor assumption, based on the facts that no whining occurred during negotiations. Fact is: Feigen already asked him this on camp Media Day. Kenny's response was a smile and "Don't ask me that." It took a second interview to get that quote about security. Do you want the link to that interview???
Fact is he whined to the media about his privledged situation. Doesn't matter if it was before or after, whining is whining. The point is that we all know how this guy basically doesn't know how to handle himself with class. Like I said, anyone who doesn't know how to take care of a family who's made millions of dollars and then goes to the media and complains about how he isn't secure and his family is at risk has lost some gripe on reality. He's been whining about his contract situation for weeks...and even after it's over, even after the Rockets made clear like many orgainizations have to BETTER players that they can't do it without paying the luxury tax which they are unwilling to do...he still whines about it. The interviewer didn't point a gun to his head and tell him about how daddy can't feed junior.
You have a very odd way of interpreting the word "security" and taking care of #1. Only a fool wouldn't want more guaranteed millions, for family and himself. You even said you have no problem with sports stars who say Sho Me Tha Money for themselves...but, if he says Show Me Tha Money for me and my family then he doesn't have "a grip on reality." Your perspective has no grip on reality. He didn't whine in that article, and you are most certainly making it up that he's been whining for weeks. He told Feigen, "Don't ask me that question." That's a fact. And that must be bird **** on your shoulder, if it isn't a chip.
He's got chillen to feed... I wouldn't call it a whine, it's more of a "oh me oh my" or "poor ole me"... There is a big difference between that and whining. Play 'em and pay 'em. What kills me is he stands to make more this way. Just kick ass and some team will offer him Cato money and the Rocks will then have to match or do a sign and trade somehow. I can just see the posts next summer... I want $.05 for every KT (& __) for (___)!
NEW YORKER......You have now used over 20 paragraphs to defend a point, that was proven untrue by HP from the beginning... But since you have put so much work into this thread...Here goes, you are awarded as follows: WINDBAG OF THE DAY ..........
You know what, I've gone out of my way not to personalize this debate. I make a criticism on KT, you respond with personal attacks. You're just an idiot homer who will walk 500 miles to defend some guy who doesn't give two sh$ts about you...and everything you state on this board is merely to antagonize and without any substance. You've made it to my ignore list...congrats.
NewYorker, I don't like it when any player in any sport complains about money. Problem is, even though they might not work as hard as other people who make less, they're paid what the market dictates. In fairness, while you accuse HP of walking 500 miles to defend a player, it seems you'd walk just as far to criticize one. And you picked a really weird one to criticize here. Kenny's comments were pretty benign compared to other players whose negotiations didn't go as they'd have liked. He's been a solid contributor and a solid team player with a very good attitude since we drafted him. He's also worked his ass off for his minutes, even though he's been the odd man out since we drafted him. I don't have a problem with management there -- I've agreed with pretty much all the personnel issues which have affected him adversely -- but I just can't imagine having a problem with Kenny. As NBA players go, he embodies a selfless work ethic and the hoopla about today's article is much ado about nothing.
Don't hold back, dude. But you definitely caved on that one, and gave me an cool addition to my signature. If we are going to make it personal for real, let's get one thing straight. My motivation was not to defend Kenny. It was to antagonize you for your strange, reactionary take on this professional athlete who just wants his truly justified reward guaranteed now.
So lemme get this straight ....if Kenny is asked a questions and answers it honestly, hes whiner ...yet if hes asked that same questions, and refuses to answer because he doesnt want to look like a whiner, then hed be looked at as being surly or "difficult with the media" ..........its a no win situation for poor Kenny .......
Whatever. If KT keeps up with this attitude, I guarantee you he won't be on the Rockets next year...and good riddence. Who wants a guy who gets depressed and angry because he can't provide for his family with 1.5 million dollars. Go think of your family KT...just ask to be traded.
Using his family as leverage? Whined?? Depressed and angry??? Give me a break. If I cared enough to have an ignore list, you'd be on it.
A fella like you , with an ignore list,is like a gunfighter with no bullets,,,,besides this aint no Dodge City and you aint no Bill Hickok......
