If that's the case why did the Pacers use their amnesty clause on Reggie Miller's contract AFTER he retired?

What if TMAC were to retire due to chronic back problems. Is there a way to take all or a portion of his salary off the books then?

It doesn't seem fair that if a guy can't go because of his health that the team would be screwed for 3 more years on a max contract.

Even after the 173rd time I've seen that, I still love it. Probably second funniest moment of Family Guy next to seeing every vomit non-stop for 2 minutes after everyone takes ipecac.

Back to the topic: I heard on ESPN radio that Tmac is playing tonight. They didn't use the word 'official' put they stated it as factual. Can anyone confirm w/ another source?

T-Mac will come back with the fire and determination necessary to lead this team while Yao is out. The supporting cast is much better than last years. For that reason, I believe the Rockets will survive this latest crisis and enter the playoffs a dangerous team.

That being said, we are seriously lacking in frontcourt depth.

On 610am, they said he did the shootaround but him playing will be a gametime decision. I assume that's still the case. He'll be on the active roster, but whether or not he plays will be determined by how he's feeling when the game starts.

Maybe T-Mac shouldn't play with fire and determination, if it's going to result in his back giving out.

    Barryxyz is right

if a player retires, his salary continues to count against the cap UNLESS you can prove strict medical circumstances (and just so you know, the league barely allows anyone to use that clause). I seem to recall the Knicks talking about it around 5 seasons ago - it might have been with Larry Johnson?? But they were hoping to get half his salary not to count against the cap (they never got it)

Thats what is so bad about the injury, he had 28 throught 3 qtrs and he was posting up down low and taking to the hoop every time and going to the line. He played great in that game.

T-Mac will be back, and this will be the last time we hear of his bad back. Tracy will comeback, return to All-Star form and keep us in playoff contention until Yao comes back.

I think he was talking about Kirk Snyder. ESPN says gametime decision.

T-Mac is not expressive outwardly. He is laid back by nature. Even when he's killing people he does it nicely. Would it be nice if he would show emotion for his teammates and everybody to see? Sure
In the end though, it's all about producing now matter how you do it

How many times did you see Tmac pump his chest during the Dallas playoff series in 05? Yet he dominated

he wasnt pumping his chest but he did show a lot of emotion in that series thats for sure, moreseo than i have seen anytime before or since. one has to only hope that he is saving that level of play for the playoffs.
