He's not going to mess up alot like before because JVG won't let him. He'll be on a short leash when he gets minutes. It ain't like the good ole days when Mooch, Stevie, and Cat ran amuck because Rudy T gave them the green light to just do whatever they wanted. ISO...dribbling the ball for 23 seconds....ain't gonna happen.

i agree with you tiger Vin if given an oppurtunity could show some game, this is a guy who if sober can play some mad ball. I think the guy is sober and still able to bring it we will see. I can only hope mooch plays well.

I just hope that Moochie can remember that Yao can give him some sweet passes. On of my favorite plays ever was the Yao over-the-head bounce pass to Mooch for a layup. Mooch has issues, but he IS better than Strickland.

Still, my reaction to the trade was about 3 minutes straight of laughing.

Moochie's a much better finisher and shooter than Barret or Strickland, but his passing and ball handling are a wash at best.

Moochie is my least favorite Rocket EVER. He embodies what I hated about our playoff-missing years. It's sad that he may be a slight upgrade over our backups, but I take comfort in the fact that he won't see a minute of time once Sura gets back.

lol, :D Last week I might, you have to be better than Strick. No I wouldn't have traded for Mooch but since he is a Rox now lets get behind the man.

Yes. That may be true. I have't seen Mooch play much this year. We'll see what happens. If he doesn't do well, he'll just sit.

I can't believe he is back either.

But man, he did have a knack at drilling THREE's to win games when he was with the Rockets.

I have, IIRC, 4 videos of him hitting game winners for the Rockets.

Well, Barrett's on the IL. I guess the 3rd PG spot is Moochie's if he can keep it.

There are few Rockets players I dislike (off the court) and I certainly don't dislike Moochie. I hope he does well in the minutes he gets.

And that IMO is the core difference between Mooch and Andre Barrett. Barrett has better physical skills, but Moochie has more confidence is his shot. Not saying the confidence is warranted...but it's easier for defenses to back off a player (AB) who doesn't take a wide open shot.

I was happy when mooch left but I wish him the best now that he is back. A good role model and good person. He just made some bad decisions with the ball before but he seems determined to fix things. I think he will do better now in JVG's sped up offense. He will get Yao the ball if nothing else.

    Same here, Good Luck Moochie...

Just hit those jump shots, and keep the dribbling down and you'll be a great success story. I hope he plays as hard as Bowen does, then we'll get something out of him.

there is no hate for moochie as a person here. its just that he isnt a NBA player. he isn't good and he screws up the flow of the game. i hope to god he won't do that here again, but more than likely he will.

exatcly robbie. moochie is probably a good man. but its his game. we're hating the game and not the player. moochies game is what it is, i just dont expect him to revolutionize it after so long. it just not realistic to ask him to do what he's never done before. moochie at his best that one year with the rockets before yao came aboard, would be a terrible fit for this team. because at his best that year, he had to dribble and isolate to score or pass. i dont think the rockets will survive with his type of style for any longer than 8 minutes.

My co-workers never heard the end of it.. all day i was like "MOOCHIE?!?!?!?!" i even had a few of them call their spouses to tell them moochie is back... they aren't basketball fans but I force them to be interested :D I thought it was a joke when I heard on 610 that moochie was back... he's a great person if he just cuts down on his TOs and keep the game moving (no long periods of dribbling just to dribble) i figure he could be a good addition to this team. This guy LOVES the Rockets and for that I can never hate him.

Me too, I love Moochie because he is such a great guy. And he generally loves the Rockets organization.

But man, as soon as I logged onto the BBS and read that we got MOOCHIE!

I yelled over and over and over again for about 5min Moochie f****ing Norris?! followed by a laugh....

Something crossed my mind about Norris for his second tour of duty. He is sort of a poor poor man's Steve Francis - sort of delirious tempo and so forth. When he was coupled with the actual Steve Francis, it was unbearable - he did not change the tempo; he just made an already-carsickness-inducing tempo worse.

But on this team, he might work better. The team lacks Moochie Norris now more than it did with Steve and Cuttino. There is contrast to Moochie's game on this team, and that is a good thing.

Going out on a limb a little, I predict Moochie looks much better this time around. I think he will be more useful and provide a more legit spark.

Go Mooch, make us eat it. And make sure you check out the "I Owe Moochie Norris An Apology" thread during one of your - many - sleepless nights.

Good points. This is what I'm hoping that happens with Mooch. I really don't think that he'll be let loose to dribble all over the place. He'll probably get limited mintues and use the pick and role more offten than the last time he was with us.

Like you said, as long as he keeps those iso down.

Not high on what Mooch can bring to the Rockets but damn, if he wants to be here that bad, maybe, just maybe he'll bring out his A-game..........if of course he has one.

I work at Best Buy and guess who strolled in tonight...

Moochie freaking Norris! He had a Rockets hat on (red hat with white logo).

The guy was exremely nice and so happy to be back! When I first saw him, he was looking at DVD's... I approached him and quietly said, "Excuse me Mr. Norris, I just wanted to welcome you back to Houston." He smiled and said thanks. I asked him to sign an autograph for my girlfriend, who loved his "retro style". He was happy to do it!

I walked away, thinking that was the end of that... then, he comes looking for me about 5 minutes later. When I finally caught up with him, he asked if I would help him pick out some home theater equipment. Over the next 45 minutes, Mooch and I walked around and picked out some stuff. The dude bought a $7,000 50 inch Sony Plasma TV, a $3,000 Bose surround sound, $500 plasma wall mount, $1,000 High Definition receiver with a built in Tivo and he's having it all installed next week. I told him Yao comes into our store all the time and he was like, "Yeah, he's my neighbor." By the end of the conversation, I was calling him Moochie, not Mr. Norris... and he had taken the time to learn my name.

Say what you will about Moochie... he may not be MJ, but he's a hell of a nice guy. I wish him luck!
