Sorry guys, my bad. I swear I looked through the thread titles this morning and didn't see this. Should've used the search function. But you still can see my post over there. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47566
To say that Nachbar is a rookie is like saying that candy isn't sugar. He has played professionally for several years. Rookie in the NBA yes but on a basketball court no way.
And it's not a Xbox game either. It was on PC first. More research ,Jenny, before you write it. Also, Boki dont compete minutes with MoT, Edddie, and KT.
Actually, someone DID ask Rudy T about Nachbar. He had a very interesting response. He basically said that when they drafted Nachbar, they were very impressed with the skills and everything he brings to the table. However, he also said that with his injuries and lack of experience, he's still a work in progress. Rudy T then went to say something to the effect of this: We don't really get a first round draft pick next year, so consider Nachbar our next year's first round draft pick. Nachbar will probably get some trash time on the court here or there this season, but don't expect to see much of him this year.
From what I remember he also said something to the effect of "I want to evaluate our veteran guys like Rice, and T MO". Ok at this stage of Rice's career, what are you going to evaluate??? Either he is going to hit the outside shot or not. His D isnt going to improve suddenly after 10 + years in the league. And what is the purpose of Evaluating T MO. If the guy isnt dunking, he aint making. He is doing NOTHING on the court. Why not evaluate your number 15 pick a tad this year? Exactly why not? No way on gods green earth he plays worst D than Rice. He couldn't possibly shoot much worse than Rices almost sub 40 percent. Why not give him some SMALL time each night to at least keep some confindence going?
Actually it is a Xbox game because you can buy it for the xbox. Maybe Ming and Boki was playing it on an XBOX. Does that not make it an XBOX game?
Dreamshake: Actually, with the zone Rice's defense HAS improved. He's a bad man to man defender, but with the help he's been doing fine. And opposing teams are honoring his 3 point threat, which is why he hasn't shot that many. I'm not a big Rice fan, but to say he hasn't improved seems silly to me. He clearly has. And Morris has been very solid for us as a role playing 3. And small ball, as much as I hate to say it, has been working for us too. Let's not obsess over fixing unbroken things. I think Boki's the future, but it doesn't bother me that he's not playing now. We ARE winning, after all. We can afford to bring him along slowly.
I have never really been a big fan of TMo's, especially last year, but since coming back from his injury and the way he played in the preseason, I think alot of you are underestimating him a little. The team has looked sharp when they have him with Griffin, and Yao in the front court. I would like to see Rudy platoon both TMo and Boki and split the time at the 3 b/n them.
If they are playing one versus one, I can't stand deathmatch. If they are playing coop- bring it on. I like Tribes, versus bots, Halo coop if on xbox awesome coop game, Diablo coop, Diablo 2 coop WarCraft/StarCraft coop. Did I mention I prefer coop? Bomberman coop...
I really feel sorry for Boki too. Rudy is constantly asked about Boki whenever he does his radio interviews. Everytime, he has difficulty answering because he doesn't like the situation neither. It's difficult enough to decide a 8-9 man game-time rotation and yet, to juggle 6 capable players at the forward position alone is mind-boggling. What else can Boki do except be patient?
I agree with whoever said time for Moochie is a waste. We don't need a *real* point guard, heck, it's arguable if our allstar starting point guard is a point guard. Small ball looked horrible all last year, Ming in the mix makes almost anything look better, that doesn't mean it's optimal.
If Nachbar is healthy I'd still like him to get 8-10 quality minutes a game until he proves he's not ready. Rudy's a coach who hates to yank players - even rookies - and I am more concerned with what it will cost us next year if Nachbar doesn't play. I like the idea of Rice starting and getting early shots (before those knees get tired) and I think T-Mo's earned some minutes, but unfortunately I wish I could say his play has earned a larger role. They haven't. Rudy loves the small ball and that's going to be used in almost every game, but I disagree with Rudy not thinking it important to get Nachbar real game experience. He may be stinking it up in practice, I don't know but it seams so in Rudy-speak. Still Rice is going to miss some more games this year and Nachbar will get an opportunity at some point. We're not really due any more pleasant surprises this year but our 3s (and our 4's) need someone to emerge. KT's played well lately primarily at the 4. I love Rudy and am happy with the overall results. But who would have thought that after 1/4 of this season our forwards would be such a cause of anxiety? Nachbar in the mix just doesn't seem to be that far-fetched an idea at this point.
I think he hasn't fully recovered from the hernia surgery in part because of the orthotics he's wearing. Shoe inserts take some getting used to; I wear them and they affect not only the feet but the leg muscles et al. Maybe that has something to do with Boki's ankle problems?
