How can coach says he's pleased with the production when yao foes out when the game turns into a layup drill? Deke should play 17 mins behind yao.

True that. Opponents see the green light towards the hoop the moment Yao checks out of the game. If Deke checks in, all they'll be seeing are his elbows.

Even Mutombo knows who the real boss in Washington is.

So add Mutombo to the growing list of people who think Cheney's a problem.

    :D

I can't even imagine what words that you people need to hear? What is it that you want them to say? It is BAD - it just is! It's NOT bad between Rafer and Yao or any other combination - it's BAD between TMAC and the rest of the team.

Do they talk? Of course, guys! Come on. This is not some coded message because it's finally coming out. But please, stop with the sources, stop with the "How does Yao feel about his friend telling his secrets?'', stop with the 'This is not Yao' or the 'Tracy's a good person and this is ALL BS'

Come on, guys - please. It's not BS - he's tearing apart the locker room. Hopefully, he comes back in shape somewhat and he can help them but TMac's future with this team is ticking away. Spin it anyway you want to because you love TMac - I respect that, I do. We're all fans of certain players but because you don't believe it that has nothing to do with whether it's true or not. Tmac may very well come back and play well. He can play NOW!!!

But as for his future here, it's not some big deal really...it's just over.

For the sake of the Rockets future we need him to come out and produce on a grand scale. Otherwise we'll be screwed next season, too. Thanks for your input.

The only problem I have with your posts is that you post as if taking some form of pleasure in seeing this come to the forefront. People can hate McGrady all they want, but there is absolutely no denying the fact that he was and still IS our most important piece, and that with him gone from the team (if there is no replacement of equal stature) the Rockets will be much worse off for it, and much less attractive a destination. We already know Lebron and Wade won't even consider Houston as a destination in 2010, so what are our options at that point? A couple of non-franchise players in Yao and someone else outside McGrady just won't cut it. Of course, an unhealthy and unhappy McGrady won't help either.

I think people need to give it a rest for a while, I honestly believe that the fans are the ones who might tip this whole thing one way or the other with their toxic behavior, they are threatening to poison the waters enough whereas they will create a point of no return.

It is still mid-January, and I personally have zero interest in seeing McGrady the "season" player come to play, I want to see what he can do with the lineup we have now, and outside a major injury I have absolutely every confidence that McGrady himself views this playoffs as a defining moment for his career. Even if you think he is selfish and plays for himself, that would only mean that McGrady cares about his legacy and wants to advance in the playoffs THIS YEAR.

So go ahead and continue to tear the guy a new one for all I care, but come April and May (and hopefully June) I do expect McGrady to play at least as well as he has in the past, and this time -- should his teammates be healthy -- he will advance. Mark my words!

i sense a slightly differently tone compared to your earlier posts. are you telling us that they either will trade him if a deal comes up they feel they can take, or they don't know how to deal with him? either way, they don't have ANY confidence and hope left in him? is it really that bad? how? why? it's not his first year here, you know.

okay, give me les' cell number and i will call him to get it straight. j/k. :D

Bump for an important/interesting quote submerged in a hopeless Deke thread.

Oh yeah, and it's pathetic the way some of T-Mac's most rabid fans attack the messenger because they don't like the message. Doc Rocket's a freaking insider--he doesn't need to come here and post. Attacking him, calling him a liar or whatever is just totally classless given the value he adds to this message board.

If we had Deke right in the begining of this season, probably we might have dodge all the troubles these days already.

i believe Uncle Mutombo will have the biggest influence on Yao, during practice Yao will be facing him and many finger wagging to encourage him to perform better offensively and Deke can teach him defensive techniques at the same time. i expect Yao to up his production this coming weeks and he needs to carry the load with T-mac out. hope we'll be ready come playoffs :)
