I thought he'd entertain me with stories about his wife and how she can't handle #2. Then he started talking about basketball.
simply making the best pitch possible for his team he is realistic. notice that he doesn't say Houston is the only place someone should look at but he makes logical points, per the numbers, that Houston has the pieces to win and some of the intangibles such as no income tax and Yao's China connection no where does he say other cities dont have advantages he's just framing his case in the best possible light
Morey has a job to do, it is his job to sell the team to free agents & the fans. He can look at it a couple of ways... 1. The glass is half empty - Yao is coming off of surgery, his long term availability is in question and the roster is young. 2. Yao is healthy, he is committed, we have a great young nucleus built to win now and in the future. Now, which one would you choose? Of course he is going to pick the sunny side, it is his job to do that, and it is the right way to go about it. Hooray Morey ! DD
I still think about this every time I think of Morey. <object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.xtranormal.com/site_media/players/jwplayer.swf"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><param name="flashvars"value="height=390&width=480&file=http://newvideos.xtranormal.com/standard/733a4d30-1a98-11df-8889-003048d6740d_8_standard_medium-flv.flv&image=http://newvideos.xtranormal.com/standard/733a4d30-1a98-11df-8889-003048d6740d_8_standard_poster.jpg&link=http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/6124105&searchbar=false&autostart=false"/><embed src="http://www.xtranormal.com/site_media/players/jwplayer.swf" width="480" height="390" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="height=390&width=480&file=http://newvideos.xtranormal.com/standard/733a4d30-1a98-11df-8889-003048d6740d_8_standard_medium-flv.flv&image=http://newvideos.xtranormal.com/standard/733a4d30-1a98-11df-8889-003048d6740d_8_standard_poster.jpg&link=http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/6124105&searchbar=false&autostart=false"></embed></object><object width="480" height="390"><param name="movie" value="http://www.xtranormal.com/site_media/players/embedded-xnl-stats.swf"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.xtranormal.com/site_media/players/embedded-xnl-stats.swf" width="1" height="1" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object>
Morey will be at the doorstep of Bosh house tonite, probably with unwanted company, but he will git'er done
You seem to know a lot about what's going to happen, and you seem very sure of it. It'll be interesting to see if you're right.
You people are getting this wrong. Morey is listening to Bosh's pitch about how Bosh thinks he can make the team better.
Morey's power point has only one slide, as shown below. http://assets.sbnation.com/assets/203585/28morey_1_600.jpg[/img] Morey will just stare at Bosh until he signs that contract.
I believe Morey's quotes were taken from this press conference announcing Yao's return. <object width="388" height="394" classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" id="ep"><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="movie" value="http://i.cdn.turner.com/nba/nba/.element/swf/1.1/cvp/nba_embed_container.swf?context=rockets&videoId=teams/rockets/2010/06/29/Dayrl0629102Mbcopymov-1361599" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /><embed src="http://i.cdn.turner.com/nba/nba/.element/swf/1.1/cvp/nba_embed_container.swf?context=rockets&videoId=teams/rockets/2010/06/29/Dayrl0629102Mbcopymov-1361599" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" bgcolor="#000000" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="388" wmode="transparent" height="394"></embed></object>
If Bosh honestly wants to sign on a team where he will be #1 and be on a championship caliber team, I don't see any team better than Houston - a team comprised of the most excellent role players
