That is what I am expecting, especially if we are one and done or not even make the playoffs this season. A new GM and coach with neither buy-in nor loyalty to the players to be in line with Les' "they aren't staying if they don't play hard..." edict would be needed. Building up a championship caliber team from scratch will be painful but it is the best shot we have rather than assembly from parts that look good on paper each year only to be disappointed by season's end.
It's the same team as last year - what's the difference? Did these guys all of a sudden forget how to play defense? Did they forget how to shoot 3's? What happened to this team?
i'm saying when you have one of the best talents in the league you don't discard him simply for being too immature. unless you're just being obtuse (as i expect) hakeem didn't have a great reputation either his first 6-7 years, and flat out demanded a trade just 2 years before taking us to the promised land. will he mature up like hakeem? i have no clue. but as of now i'd rather take our chances on the answer being yes than starting over.
i'm not so sure i want to part with harden or his immense talent just yet. but when comparing him to hakeem, let's not overlook harden's ever recurring issues with effort. dream may have played a bit selfish or didn't trust his teammates enough, he may have been a hothead far too often......but he did give 100% on the floor practically every single night
I'm guessing the Rockets have no other option but to stay pat. The other GMs know how desperate Morey is, ie only low ball offers. With the Rockets continuing to disappoint and Les's publicly expressed displeasure. It sure doesn't help. Just another season where the Rockets aren't genuine contenders not that they've ever been this century
Preach on. At the same time, Morey said what he had to. If he didn't, imagine the ****storm. He was being diplomatic.
That's the problem. That team last season was garbage and in a major slump until Josh Smith suddenly clicked. People seem to have forgotten this.
Exactly. We were still that team down 1-3 with Austin Rivers scoring 17pts on us in a row. That game 5 really let everything else slip through the cracks; we had a huge deal of flaws offensively and defensively.
