Regardless of Morey having a man-crush on Gortat (I'm pretty sure he tried to acquire him in the past), he's already on record saying he wants to play for Golden State now. So if they want him, he's theirs and we'll be a jilted suitor once again.

I wouldn't be excited by either guy, but Crawford is a shooter and MDA's offense is a "Shooter's Paradise".

I will give Morey credit for not using the MLE on LMAM. He’s been underwhelming, and Morey correctly read a robust buyout market.

That said, literally every other move went bust (Chriss/Knight, MCW, Melo, etc.). If he does manage to get the team under the luxury tax and augment with Austin Rivers, Faried, Shumpert, plus likely some combo of Markieff Morris, Gortat, Monroe, Crawford, W. Chandler, and Danuel House, it’s better than I would’ve imagined.

The key assumption is whether or not getting under the luxury tax legitimately unshackles spending the next 3 years if worries of the repeater tax go away.

Nothing this team will do will satisfy you since AD is the only way...

    Maybe JB.

They have zero chance THIS year and unless a top 15 guy joins they were not going to take out Warriors. No one will and now Cousins is playing. Good night.

    My opinion of course.

I get it. Other teams will get better next year. I think we will probably only get marginally better, but who knows maybe we luck into a difference maker. Our difference of opinion is really only about whether Tillman will spend money next couple of years and whether we would be better off going over the luxury tax this year or next. If healthy, I think we have a better roster going into the playoffs than we did last year. I also believe we can improve on that roster next year.

Going all in this year for what little seemed to be available (neither of us really know) seemed less prudent to me with Golden State probably losing a least one of their superstars next year. Lakers with Anderson will gut their bench and not make them better than us. No use worrying too much about Eastern conference teams. You can play what if all you want, but I doubt seriously any team will pick up two superstars in the off-season which will still leave us in the upper tier of teams with arguably a better shot at getting out of the West since Golden State should be weaker and no team in the East will be better next year than Golden State is this year.

Not sure if folks are over rating him but rather he is viewed as this small piece of the puzzle. Beard agrees with that notion as well.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they sign shelvin mack. Morey pursued him before

I'd be the opposite of excited @'Moose'; Crawdaddy I'd be OKish with (Sweet Lou he ain't).

How long since MM has been ok to play? I'd be ok with his game (even if loving a Morris twin is hard work).

Someone said Kief wouldn't be available until around 21 Feb (after break), which seems to work with saving cash, but still give him sometime to find his game w/ Rox.

You still didn't suggest anything, all you said was " match the warriors spending" Well how do you match the warriors spending? i asked you to suggest a player/s we should have picked up or traded for but you wrote me an assay asking me who i liked to see. Well i'll answer that: i liked jimmy butler but we know Timberwolves didn't want our offer. Look i'm on your side i do agree we are wasting Harden's prime but it's because of the Warriors existence and nothing else.

So no one can take out the Warriors, and our team is better now than last season, yet Ariza/Ryno/Moute were fringe players. Btw We were #1 seed, took the Warriors to 7, and we were up at halftime of games 6 and 7 without Paul. Cousins ain't all that. Capela played him shoulder to shoulder before his injury, and he is not going to be better than that, plus Harden is going to TOAST that guy. I will bump this thread when Harden or Paul lay that guy flat on his ass.

Your position is not logical. I'm not asking for a team that is favored to beat the Warriors. We don't need AD to beat the Warriors in a season where Harden is the clear-cut best player on both teams. There are teams who are not favored who have a chance. The strategy is clear, get better on defense. Shumpert is going to bump us up from piss-poor to mediocre. We needed at least 1 or 2 more such guys, especially at the 4 spot.

I'm not going to suggest players. I know what this conversation devolves into once subjective assessments of players come in. If you think that only a top 15 player would give us a better chance against the Warriors than we had in last season's playoffs, then we're not even on the same page anyway so it's a pointless exercise.

For the record, I do not believe that only a Jimmy Butler could get us in that conversation. In fact, I was certain that whatever it would realistically take to get Jimmy Butler would render this roster's depth and role players useless for this season and I was still on board with that. FOR THAT, I am totally up for sacrificing this season. I would have happily dumped literally everyone else for that core to be secured, even if just to have a Capela/Butler/Harden/Paul core for next season.

This is a war game, if we're going to bend over just because the Warriors are favorites then we don't have the mentality to win it anyway.

I'm really confused, so your saying we should have signed players ( match the warriors spendings) but you actually don't want players to sign with us like Jimmy butler. It seems like you are just complaining out of frustration and nothing else man. I'm actually on board for letting this season play out the way it is with outr signings through buy outs solely because KD might break the warriors line up finally and move to the east. Maybe the Morey knows something so just be patient my friend as we are all frustrated seeing Harden's prime goes to waste.

Tell me, hat would you have done instead of b!tch and complain? They've improved the team if they add Twin I think they have a 30-40% chance to win a championship if they stay healthy. I will take those odds.

What more do you want with the Warriors basically having an all star team. Which All Star that could've been realistically been added that Morey didn't add?

No I think you're misreading. I wanted Butler, and I still want Butler. Letting things play out and we'll see how it goes is always the case, and we have seen how things went. This front office was given the longest leash in history "wait till you see the team in April!". Maybe they know something. We promise Tilman will spend.

Based on what has happened this summer, it has been a sham, and if we don't win it all I will be sure to remind everyone when murmurs of James Harden's unhappiness start coming out. He is not going to "we need one more piece" forever. Total BS, it has been a failure and there's no need to hide that.

Cause we know it's going to happen right? It is so easy to visualize it even right now. Wobbly fat boy will eventually go down because we have no other play but to force him onto Harden.

Look if you can't handle criticism when we spend all season erasing the mistakes of all summer and you want me to sit here and applaud for spending all season fixing a predictable summer f*ck up then you got the wrong guy. We're at square one. That's not good, even if there were gains in a temporary period.

so if you can't suggest a player why are you posting the same thing over and over?

Can you please post one trade that is feasible to get these players you want or please stop with the whining.

I mean in this one post you are talking out of both sides of your mouth what did we really have attractive to get this player you wanted?
