http://www.miamiherald.com/588/story/181316.html --------------------------------- Maybe Haslem wasn't even apart of a potential deal.
if deke doesn't re-sign they still need to add a vet backup C. morey has indicated that much. if they sign a free agent that's another player and more salary. via trade they can possibly reduce or at least stay the same in roster numbers and team salary.
at first i thought maybe u would do it as an expiring contract. but with that reason....you make no sense at all. Butler is the answer there. thats why im coach, and you are not
Why are there such differing reports coming out of the Miami Hearald and hte Houston Chronicle? It's like each paper reports what they would most like to happen. Miami Herald reports that they're only offering Doleac.....The Houston Chronicle reports that Haslem's being discussed. What a difference.
Who in there right mind would trade a player of haslem's calibare for a scrub like Rafer?... comon people, use some common sense ...
The Chronicle reported that Haslem and Doleac were discussed, and that was on the 21st. I bet Miami has rejected the idea of trading Haslem. The deal for Doleac with Alston won't work though. Their salaries don't come close enough for a trade to work. Washington is not interested in giving Navarro to the Heat for a draft pick. Maybe we give Alston to them for Doleac, cap filler, and a draft pick. A pure salary dump.
Trying to dump Skip for a player like Doleac is a mistake. It's good that they are trying to look at other teams.
Nobody loves Rafer, even Miami wanted Francis over him. We are going to have to play Rafer during the regular season to raise his value.
Alston + Reed for Doleac + Mourning Mourning can be waived for $0 before 8/10/07 Rockets waive him, Miami re-signs him So the Heat dump Doleac but add slightly more money for Rafer and taking on Reed's contract is like adding cash considerations to the deal.
http://www.miamiherald.com/588/story/181316.html Posted on Wed, Jul. 25, 2007 FLORIDA SPORTS BUZZ Stockings void of Shaq-Kobe By BARRY JACKSON bjackson@MiamiHerald.com After three years, the NBA and ABC wisely concluded the novelty has worn off Shaq vs. Kobe/Heat vs. Lakers on Christmas. Instead, word is the NBA will have the Heat play in Cleveland on Christmas, creating a Dwyane Wade vs. LeBron James matchup. Though the schedule circulating is tentative, Heat-Cavs is expected to be one of two ABC games that day, a league source said. The Heat is tentatively set to open at home against Detroit on Nov. 1. • The Heat is focusing on trades to find a point guard, and talks continue with Houston regarding Rafer Alston (due $14.7 million during the next three years). Though Miami would move Michael Doleac, the Rockets are exploring what other teams would offer. Talks with Sacramento about Mike Bibby have not materialized -- the Kings aren't eager to take back ex-King Jason Williams. Meanwhile, Washington has shown little interest in accepting a Heat draft pick for FC Barcelona combo guard Juan Carlos Navarro.
That's not allowed anymore...... to sign your old player after they have been cut from the team you traded to. A couple seasons ago Gary Payton was on the celtics and traded to the hawks for 'toine. The hawks cut him and he resigned with the celts a couple days later. After this they made the rule so that couldnt happen anymore.
Pargo might sign with a euroleague team so jeff foster might be more of an option now. P.S. Miami might be more delusional than the lakers if they are offering us just deloac for alston. News Flash!!!!!!!! Alston is better than your two ****ty point guards Miami, you're gonna have to overpay. If haslem isnt in the deal i hope we get the rebounding machine foster. Man its been 4 days and morey hasnt done anything, anybody else getting antsy for a deal since he got us used to press conference after press conference in the last couple of weeks?
I really think you guys are on crack if you think that Miami is trading Haslem for Alston. They have Simien and that's it. Why would they make a trade like that when Haslem is one of their only decent players under 30 years old?
Exactly and Miami isn't exactly brimming with stud Power Forwards. Who they gonna get to replace Haslem?
